Hi, long time reader first time poster. My husband and I are taking a trip out to Forestville coming up to celebrate his birthday. We both love good beer and food. Looks like we should be about 30 min from Lagunitas, 20 from Russian River and not too far from Healdsburg and Bear Republic. We are planning to visit all 3 if possible. Any other recommendations for places to try in the area in terms of breweries, restaurants, or bars? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks is advance!

Like mapleneck stated already, definitely Flavor Bistro for Moonlight beers.

I haven't been in a while but the aforementioned Barley and Hops Tavern is a serious gem out in Occidental. About 10 taps with Pliny on most of the time. Wild Flour Bread/Bakery out that way in Freestone is killer too.

You're going to be close to two great spots. Korbel Winery and Stumptown Brewing in Guerneville. Hit them up!

Only been once, but Woodfour in Sebastopol had some decent beers when I was there. Also, not beer but there is also an Ike's in Santa Rosa and their sandwiches are legit. Food at RR is nothing to JO to, but I do like the Pliny bites. Might want to go very early to RR, like right when they open if it's on a weekend or you can expect a wait for a table.

How far do you feel like wandering and how much time will you have? There are some amazing spots which also have great beer that are an easy drive.

For example, a spectacularly scenic three hour trip up the coast will take you to Fort Bragg and North Coast Brewing.

Or, head an hour South into Marin County and explore Muir Woods, Point Reyes, or a host of other great places to visit. Marin has several great breweries.

For food, look into Healdsburg. It is probably my favorite little city in California and is crazy good for foodies.
