Just curious if anyone has had one recently. Is it still drinking good? As an American sour, will this get better with age, or start to fall off?
We did close to a full vert during the NFL playoffs (we were missing 2010) and I thought 2009 was the best of the bunch. If I can remember correctly I ordered them 2009 > 2011 (Kriek, can't really compare) > 2007 > 2008. It's been a long time since I have had 2010 so I can't remember where to rank it. But I thought the 2007 had definitely fallen off compared to the 2009. I didn't car for 2008 much at all. 2007 was still worth a try...but I wouldn't trade heavily for it at this point. If you've already got one, I would say crack it soon. This is my opinion of course, other may disagree.
I was at the tasting with Chad and I too thought that the 07 was past its prime. I didn't think the 08 was bad, but the 09 and 10 (drank at a different time) were better. In my opinion I wouldn't wait any longer to drink the 07, and I would not be interested in trading much for one. Other vintages yes, although the 08 will soon be in 07 territory.
Yeah, '07 fell off a long time ago and '08 isn't far behind. '09 and '10 are still really nice, however.
This was kinda what I was thinking. I have never had it, and want the first one to be a good experience. I had some really nice offers for my Vanilla Bourbon and Brandy Barrel Dark Lords, but most of them included '07 and '08 Cable Cars. I didn't take the offers, solely because I'm trading to drink it, not bank on first vintage rarity.
