Hey guys, I did a few trades already, but on this one, I feel I may not be ready to land yet.
I was thinking Remy's Pappy + couple Beats. Or is that still not good enough?

Lol grze...give it up for now and drink those other great beers in your cellar.. one day you'll meet some drunk guy who will give it to you for a shelf beer.. or just go to tons of bottle shares until someone pops one

Haha. I still have many beers on my ISO  But the truth is, I won't be complaining. I tried a lot of beers that I wanted within the last year that were absolutely mind blowing (westy, bcbcs, younger etc). The problem with the bottle shares is that I don't know many people in the area I recently moved to...but hey, who knows.

This is what I gave for it a few months back:
    Armand' 4 Zomer
    Armand' 4 Herfst
    Armand' 4 Winter
Oude Geuze Vintage '08 750mL (red label)

After having it side by side with DDG, I was a little disappointed, I thought DDG was the better beer, and took a lot less to trade for, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely glad I finally landed it, just not sure it's worth what it takes

You'll run into something... from what I understand the general consensus is that Cable Car gets better with a few years on it. So your best bet is to try to get an early vintage and sit on it. I personally think you have enough in your cellar but all the bottles it will take probably isn't worth it....imo of course...

It's not. 2008 and 2009 were delicious and Kriek was really nice, but there are far better beers in the same style that are much easier to acquire.

Not to speak for Xul, and obviously acknowledging that American wild does not equal lambic, but I would say Zomer, Herfst, Winter, and '08 OGV are all better. As are 3F OG, Tilquin, and De Cam (both geuze and lambiek)

That's a pretty good list, I'd probably add 3F Golden Blend and Cantillon OG. I realize that I have a bias towards lambic and gueuze compared to American counterparts, and I've had some excellent pours of Cable Car, but on average you're getting a better beer at a better pricepoint, whether buying Belgians off the shelf or ordering them direct from Belgium.

I get the fascination with Cable Car and I'm lucky to have had most vintages at least once (didn't bother with 2013), but if you really want to try it, you're better off saving some money and visiting one of the Toronados to enjoy Cable Car along with a whole host of other awesome beer.
