Just drank a bottle that I received in a BIF and loved it. Im looking to trade for a few bottles but I don't have any info on the beer. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

    Distro?
    Price?
    Brewery only?
    Etc...

Also if you have traded for it,what did you ship?

    Thanks in advance.

Brewed seasonally (early winter-ish) by Williamsburg Alewerks in Williamsburg, VA. Others will have to speak, but I've heard some makes it to the DC area and some to North Carolina, outside of the immediate area.

Cost is right around $8 to $10 I believe (at least that's what I paid for it).

I live relatively close to the brewery so I can't speak about what it trades for really.

most recent release came out late Dec, with limited distro from SC to Philly.
$8-10 sounds about right depending on where you can get it.

their Bourbon Barrel Porter may be even better than Cafe Royale and tends to have a slightly bigger/higher distribution with a new batch coming out very shortly.

what these guys have said is all correct. it's a kick ass beer. first two releases were aged in Virginia Gentleman Bourbon barrels. the most recent batch, due November/December will be aged in Bowman Bourbon barrels (i've heard the John J. Bowman single barrel) from Fredricksburg, VA making it a truly VA beer. some bottles do make it to Northerm VA/DC and SC. as far as i know Alewerks does not distribute to NC but i may be wrong. Bourbon Barrel Porter is great as well, and should be released this month.

I've not seen any Alewerks beers on shelves in NC. Definitely not in Raleigh.

I have only seen Williamsburg Alewerks in VA, DC, and southern PA. The Cafe Royale and Bourbon Barrel Porter are thinly distributed in those areas. I wish they'd make a bit more as it flies off shelves in populated areas like Northern VA.

I know Alewerks goes to SC as I've seen them at CBX/GBX.
    Maryland too.

there was a decent amount of it on draft and in bottles in philly. bottles hung around on a few shelves for a bit at around $12ish each.

Bottles were still on the shelf when I visited VA a month ago.
