This is released in October usually? Also how long is this beer good for in the cellar? Does it improve with time or slowly go south? TIA.

I'd also love to know the release date. I really want to get my hands on a few.

We got it in NoVA on the 17th of September last year. It's not coming this week, and haven't heard anything from them in regards to it. Brought it to DLD, it's an excellent beer. Probably my favorite from Alewerks.

the last thing i heard from Alewerks was that it was due mid-October. it's aging a bit longer this time around.

That is about what I heard as well when I was down there a month or so ago.

I haven't had any that were aged over a few months but I do see it going down hill fairly quick. The coffee with fade for sure. I had last years Coffeehouse Stout (Cafe Royals base beer...kinda) a month ago and while it's not nearly as amazing as fresh it was much better than expected. I would drink fresh though.

I just had a bottle 2 weeks ago and it was still excellent. Bourbon had mellowed even more- and that's fine by me. Smooth, creamy, delicious!

what ncaudle said, but Alewerks is not exactly known for consistency, so who knows. not surprisingly, yes, Coffeehouse Stout ages poorly.

Cafe Royale came out in Nov in 2010 and Dec 2011. I had a 2011 bottle a couple days ago and it tastes fantastic. The bourbon is pretty mellow and the coffee isn't all there, but it's still awesome.

Such a great under the radar beer from an under the radar brewery. Great tasting barrel aged stout for around $10? Ridic.
