Is there a way to discern the first batch with the second? I ask because I have a bottle with a brown label and one with a purple label. Curious if one is the 11 and one the most recent.

    Thanks!

Brown label is the new batch.

I saw this at a local store. Is it worth 20 bucks a bottle? The guy at the store recommended it and it seemed like they knew their beer.

I think it's worth it. Amazing beer all around and possibly the best mouthfeel of any I've ever had.

It was really damn good, definitely worth trying at least once.

i thought it was good but not worth the price tag. tasted like a better version of rogue double chocolate stout (which i'm also not crazy about). that style might just be a bit too sweet and chocolatey for me

It's a great beer. Given that trading for it twice and people saying it was $16-17, looks like they're over pricing a bit.

I'm a huge fan of this beer. I take 1-2 trips to Oregon every year, and I always look froward to purchasing several bottles of Mogli to bring home. (I also really like Caldera IPA.) My recollection is that they're typically priced $12-$13 in Oregon. I've also seen some bottles in California on occasion, and they're priced $14-$15. So, $20 is definitely on the very high side. At that price, I'd probably get just one bottle. I've definitely spent more for other bottles that I ended up not liking at all.

Awesome beer, all chocolaty and vanilla goodness. Very well done. $17 around me. I have some extras if anyone is looking!

Thanks for the recomends. Looks like I will have to give it a shot and get some this weekend. I should say it is 10% off if I buy 6 bombers or more of anything. So it is really 18 bucks here but I have only seen it at one store.

Does anybody have a location in California (Bay Area) on where I can find one? My friend had a black wax bottle but he had brought it back when he moved back from Oregon.

Here is a list of where they are distributed. When I was in Cali on vacation, I saw it at most liquor stores that had a decent craft section.

I thought it was a bit off... hard to pin point but I didn't really enjoy the bitterness. I love bitter beer but the bitterness in this beer was not very pleasant.

Don't know Bay Area but here in SoCal you can get it at Total Wines and more. I think it's under $15. It's a good beer. Probably wouldn't pay $20 for it regularly.

This should probably be a topic all its own but since you mentioned mouth feel, I'd say Rochefort 10 has the best I've ever had. It's like velvet.

Gotta disagree with ya there. As far as quads go, I find Rochefort to be sharp, harsh, and overcarbonated in the mouthfeel, although I love the flavor of their yeast. In fact, when it comes to blind tastings of Belgians, I can always pick out the Rochefort on mouthfeel alone. Within that style, St Bernardus has the creamiest, most luscious mouthfeel imo, which is why it always tops the list in quad tastings for me.
