Seems likely that some semblance of normalcy will rear its head by later summer next year. I'm looking forward to getting back out into our lovely state and seeing the sights and tasting the treats. So I ask, what brewers do you see rising to prominence? What trends do you see in the CA market?

For my money, I think that wild ales/mixed fermentation breweries in CA are going to start to get a bit more love. I also think we will have more and better lager options in summer 2021 than ever before. And, obviously haven't gotten to travel much or try many new little breweries this year but I'm gonna go with a hunch that some brewer out of the Sacramento area is gonna have a break out year.

When we start seeing sports & concert venues/festivals full of people that’s when we will start to get back to some normal.
I can see more hazy’s and west coast IPA’s and more beers named after Covid. I would like to see more shipping options, meaning more ways to buy 4pks instead of a case or 12pk of same beer. Mix them up some. I know there’s a lot of breweries that do let you mix the 4pks. I hope the shipping in California continues. Although I don’t see that happening if tasting rooms open back up to full capacities. As far as beers, the ones that’s out now are all great. Keep them hoppy IPA’s coming 2021.

I predict that most predictions won't come true. There will be a slow return of beer festivals and San Jose will actually have a brewery which I think that is better than average.

Pretty specific predictions, even for a micro/macro market like CA. For me I see a few things on a macro level

    1) we will see a lot of closures into June 2021 unless there is more PPP
    2) I've seen two bigger craft guys offering alcohol free IPA, something that will take shelf space and either flourish or die quickly
    3) more crafters getting into either seltzers or cocktail blends in cans
    4) HUGE growth for the industry and the US economy second half of Q3 2021 (August 2021 - unknown)

On the website/e-commerce site I've only seen singles for the bigger beers approaching 10%. At their taphouses I've been able to get singles of anything they had on hand.

Just that mixed 12 pack it looks like. Hopefully they'll continue to put out other mixed 12 packs with 1 or even 2 cans of several different beers.

Bottles will make somewhat of a comeback as the can supply chain has issues.

One of the very, very, few positive things things coming out of Covid has been the increased number of breweries shipping to home. That resulted in beers being available to a wider audiences and likely additional sales. I'm hoping and predicting that is something that will continue to some extent even as taproom opens due to the revenue it brings and breweries will need every bit of cash they can get to start recovering.

I can add the 405 and other FRWY’s here in SoCal has hardly any traffic these days. Pre Covid would take me an hour to hour and half from LAX to Surf City. During Covid, 30-40 minutes tops. Also Covid got our general manager (The Troll ******) and 3 other supervisors fired back in May. Thank you Covid.

    I saw the 12pk mix &4pks. :+1:

Ain't that the truth! For native So Cal residents or long term transplants it's like the clock got turned back decades as far as traffic goes. I made a round trip into downtown LA that took just over an hour including a brief stop. Pre-Covid, in recent years, I've had the trip just into downtown approach two hours with bad traffic.

Yep. My trips to DTLA to pickup my Modern Times orders have taken about 30 min each way from the valley. That was unheard of prior to Covid.
