I'm developing a California Common recipe in BrewCypher using a blend of available 'Anchor-based' recipes available online. I'll be using Wyeast 2112 Cal Lager and building up 100% RO water. I will be using available hops for finishing (Amarillo and Centennial rather than Northern Brewer) but want to make sure the malt comes through prominently, a la Anchor. I'm not trying to make an IPL.

Does anyone have a preferred water profile for this style (Ca Mg Na Cl SO4 HCO3 in ppm)?

If you are using brewcipher, it has a built in suggestion for that style. It will probably have a generic name though.it will be a choice in a drop-down box in the bottom left corner.
EDIT: it's called mid malty pale ale

Actually, the BrewCipher suggested profile in the dropdown for California Common should say "Generic Mid Amber Ale." If you're seeing something else, it might be hangover from the previous recipe. If you click on the little arrow on the dropdown, you should see that it's no longer on the dropdown list. (But it still displays on the water tab until you select something else from the dropdown.)

Or... if you have added any user water profiles, they will all appear in the dropdown (i.e. they are not associated with specific styles). @DAllspaw

You are correct obviously. I inadvertently selected cream ale by mistake
