Visit to Lake Arrowhead and up PCH to San Fran over 10 days early October. Planning on hitting Russian River Windsor in person. Not sure how many actual breweries my wife will entertain however what should I seek out retail wise as MUSTS?! Any style really I am not picky but heavy info DIPA, RIS and Barleywines.

way too many cool places to stop. are you taking PCH the whole way? if your cutting in on 101 at some points, Firestone walker is a good stop. but if your taking 1 allll the way you have to stop at sante adairius which is right off hwy 1 in santa cruz

Trying to do as much PCH as I can but like I said the wife will only tolerate so many beer stops. Looking for more retail suggestions i can score to go and enjoy in hotel room and bring home....

as mentioned SARA is a must stop. Alvarado St Brewing in Monterrey is along 1 also, but if i had to choose between them I'd pick SARA.

In SF, Cellarmaker is a must stop. City Bottle Store is also nearby and has a nice selection of bottles.

For your tastes stopping at the Firestone Walker bottle shop in Paso Robles or there barrel facility in buellton would be a good start.

SARA, they currently have like 12 options to go and a bunch of beers on fill to go, including riwaka. thats a must stop if ur on highway 1.

you can also check out beer 30, its a beer bar with a great selection to go. if you can only do 2 stops and your going highway 1, those 2 would be it

@KevSal speaks TRUTH, and @stevepat rec to hit up FW Visitor's Center (or Taproom if you need some grub too) if you roll 101 through Paso is a definite if you venture off PCH

Might be a little far south for your liking but Riip on PCH in Huntington Beach is a great spot, ocean view & breeze. Also most next door spots will deliver food to there as well.

If you stop in Monterey and are limited on beer stops you COULD always tell your wife they have good lunch and/or dinner options at Alvarado Street (and they do). She does need to eat right?

The actual challenge would be if you could talk her into going to Fieldwork after just down the street from Alvarado.

IQ is correct on both. Food is pretty damn good at AVB. Beers ain't bad either. And Fieldworks? Yes.
