    Tons of great recommendations already.

Casa Agria has been pumping out great lagers lately, at least one a month and with the free shipping it's a pretty great deal. Drinking their recent helles lager "Living in Lightning" right now which is tasting great. The Rice Lager from last month was also really enjoyable.

Check'em out if you haven't - tough to beat the price point w/free shipping for orders over $45

Not a bad one, but it’s pricey for a single Lager (wish they canned it and sold it in 4 packs).

    Awesome recommendations. Much appreciated!

Big fan of Green Cheek’s lagers: Bier is outstanding; love what they do with their oak-aged lagers, namely Oaked Just Right and more recently, Not a Vanity Project; Pils Titan is also amazing.

Lotta love for Timbo, not surprising. Malgo is a worthy challenger to the hoppy pils throne and it should be on their regular rotation. Fill Pils and Thunderbolt Gold deserve more love.

Enegren consistently puts out good stuff.

Love Velvet Glow and STS but I think I prefer Velvet over STS.
@unlikelyspiderperson will keep an eye out on Alluvium. Just added the beer on my Untappd CA Lager list.

Last time I was at the Portal, I had All Mammals Play. (Damn, that was almost a year ago.) I need to get some cans.

That mixed lager case (one with Side or Rice and 9-5 and their flagship) from Moonlight is looking good right about now.

Hope y’all are enjoying your holiday and if you’re laboring today, you deserve a crisp one or two after work. Prost!

Still pricey though. I think it's even more expensive in cans than in bottle... ($22)

I'm here for the Thunderbolt Gold love. It's one of those beers where, yeah, pouring it into a glass would be nice but somehow drinking it straight from the can just makes it so much more refreshing.

... that being said... do you guys have recommendations of another Helles?

    I just bought a 4-pack of this...

and would a million times pay the upcharge of Velvet Glow over this ($16/4-pack). This is terrible.

If you see the Ruekeller Helles from the bruery that is super tasty. I've only seen it as singles at one store up here and they were just shy of $4 each so probably an even better deal as a 4 pack

Try GC’s Bier and HPB’s Thunderbolt Gold. Bier may just be my favorite... beer from GC. Thunderbolt Gold is criminally underrated.

Darn, Cellarmaker just sold out of their stock of T-Bolt Gold. Had I known it was a Helles before, I would have gotten it last week.

Just finished my last can of GC’s Not a Vanity Project. What an outstanding brew. The cola sweetness it imparts is offset by the roasted malt and the oak. It’s really smooth and all the elements are just held together tightly. Can’t praise this enough and highly recommend it

Wanted to stick to a schwarzbier theme and stepped outside of CA, so to speak and cracked open a can of Live Oak’s reindition of Black Is Beautiful. My god, this is really good, deviating from GC’s Vanity by showcasing big roast profile with a pleasant bitter finish without detracting from its drinkability/crushability. Kudos to Live Oak participating on a massive initiative but staying in their lane to show case their strength and do it for a great cause.

Speaking of lagers, Oktoberfest season is upon us. I have Enegren, Three Weavers and Smog City on my radar locally and Ayinger for a true German representation. Which others should be on the lookout for?

This year's isn't really an Oktoberfest beer though. I feel like it tastes neither Festbier nor Marzen.
