Just cracked my last can of Don’t Tell Science. GC and Bagby absolutely killed this collab; spicy hops upfront with a kiss of lightly roasted bread on the finish. Pretty much a perfect sessionable beer: packed with flavor and low in ABV at 4%. I wish more breweries did something like this.

Beachwood will be canning Loma Prieta in 16 oz cans in 2021. Sounded like it’s slated for an late March - early April release.

Also asked about a pilot/experimental lager and Julian said they are re-releasing Beachwood 13 sometime late this year/early ‘21. \m/

I'm sure already mentioned, but Enegren makes a mighty fine lager. They also ship throughout CA.

Something had been bothering me about this latest batch of Timbo. Opened one last week and it drank Iike a watered down IPA. Cracked one today and I felt the heft of the hops upon first sip and the lingering hop character. I finally looked at the label and noticed that they switched the hops from Motueka to Mosaic. Caught me off guard. Not quite sure if I like it or not, but it definitely doesn’t feel like a pils. It’s been awhile since I’ve had Timbo, and I’ve been gravitating more towards German and Czech style pils, which probably explains it. Anyone else feel the same? Lol

I only tried Timbo once (4-pack, earlier in summer this year). It was Mosaic. And I enjoyed it, as I find Mosaic better in clear beer as a single hop.

Had the Enegren Williamette recently, and it was fantastic. Nicely hopped lager. No surprise from Enegren

Grabbed 2 packs down at SD beer and wine and I'm so glad I got them. Easily crushable and enegren is starting to be on my list of their lineup style of beers.

Enegren is definitely in the top 5 lager makers from Cali IMO.

It's seen some distribution (I've seen it at Wine Country in Long Beach) but I got mine from the source

I really can’t think of any California Lagers that I buy on the regular (my local spot Bradley’s in Tustin doesn’t carry Enegren). I would love to drink Moonlight Reality Czeck daily, but I never see that happening. Honestly I buy a lot of Prima Pils, Mama’s Little Yellow Pils, Pivo, and when I feel like splurging Heater Allen. The guy at my local shop also recommends Wayfinder, Occidental, and Van Ebert. I would love to support California more though. Anyone have any recs? I’m in North OC and mainly go to Bradley’s, both Windsor’s, and Mr K’s. Thanks!

Windsor has been getting more lagers in lately (including Enegren). I've heard good things about Wayfinder... Need to check their stuff out. Urban Roots made probably my favorite festbier last season, so their other lagers (assuming there are others) are probably worth grabbing

Pick yourself up some Enegren Willamette hopped Pilsner from Windsor. It’s absolutely delicious!

We've started getting more regular drops of Moonlight so maybe they're expanding distro. I'll definitely second the Urban Roots rec. they do a great job with lagers. I haven't tried anyone in socal who does better than Enegren in lagers (I'm not a big fan of the highland park pilsners, crosbo is the best I've had). North Park seems to do a good job too

Yeah if you like Timbo, North Park Party Cup is pretty solid

I’ve heard good things about Eppig, but have no idea what their distro is like.

To me, Eppig is every bit as good as Enegren. Eppig is only 3 miles from me so they are a regular buy. Festbeir, Shwarzbeir, Japanese Lager, and they also make very killer clean west coast IPA's. I don't know their distribution but they are easy to find in North SD County.
