I wish Eppig distributed outside of San Diego (do they even distribute within SD?). I'd easily put them in the same rank of Lager Lords with Enegren and Moonlight

Eppig ships direct to your house anywhere in CA va GLS. I see them in my small local shops as well as Bevmo, unsure of whom/where distribution is though.

Where have you seen Moonlight? I’m in North OC.

I'm way north so I haven't seen anything near you. But they never distributed here before 2020 and they've started being regularly available here. I'm just guessing that they're trying to expand distribution

The only place in LA/OC I've seen Moonlight is K&L in Hollywood (they get it from their NorCal stores)

They’re owned by Heineken now so you would assume that they’d branch out to at least Southern California.

    Is it a regular thing?

I wouldn't say "regular"... "occasional" is more accurate

Ya I think they are finally. I'm 4 hours north of the brewery and they're just showing up here. I've heard the owner of moonlight is pretty averse to change but they've been adding a bunch of new stuff lately so I'm hopeful that we'll all.be able to live that reality Czech life soon

My favorite Czech Pils of all time. I used to drink it at Toronado when I was up in San Francisco, and since the pandemic I’ve ordered it twice in mix packs. Every now and then a Moonlight sighting was had at Beachwood’s restaurant in Seal Beach, but they closed because of Covid. Super bummer.

I’ve have fine lagers from Eppig but no they do not equate to the experience of Moonlight has or the skill Enegren has shown. I’ve been to Eppig space they simply don’t have the tools or equipment to make exceptional lager. They make mediocre lager that is totally passible as fine or worth drinking but to my opinion they are not exceptionally well made or well conditioned. After extensive review in the area , Bagby is the lager exemplary in San Diego county by a very far margin. (This is an opinion which of course is highly subjective)

Windsor gets heaps and heaps of Enegren and Urban Roots. DM Scot on IG and let him know your looking for both. Should easily get some of California’s best lager that that way that also is fresh and well refrigerated.

Guess this means I'm going to have to revisit Eppig and Bagby!

Jimbo Pils is a pretty spicy new entry to the hoppy lagers list from HPb.

A couple years ago I had a Hoppy Pils (Dry Hopped w/ Motueka) from Eppig which was fantastic. If they ever canned that version I'd have it in my fridge every summer. Everything Babgy makes is great and true to the style. I just wish they would can their beers but the demand for perfectly brewed beers in classic styles isn't there. When they canned Sweet Ride I must have bought a couple cases.

If you aren't drinking lots of foamer from modern times you are missing out

Picked up my first Enegren Lagar6pk yesterday. Tell me these guys don’t date their cans? I couldn’t find any date on the side of the r bottom of their cans.
