California Lagers

Willamette version was awesome! Damn, these are perfect beers for the upcoming summer weather.

 

IMO grungeist is more true a german lager to me than Williamette, which was like a west coast hoppy german lager. I mean, I bought a case of this latest batch and it's so hard not drinking it all!

 

A couple of weeks ago I happened to be in the area of Enegren and picked up some Grungeist at the source. Wish I'd picked up more than I did. Good stuff.

 

Sante adairius “little bit” is a pretty awesome helles if you run across it.

 

Just got some more Party Cup as well as Birdie to Bogey. North Park makes the best hoppy lagers in the game. Modern Times new hoppy lager So Good also lives up to the name.

 

Enegren has brewed a dortmunder lager in collaboration with Beachwood. From Enegren's IG:

We will be releasing this beer on April 23rd, the 505th Anniversary of The Reinheitsgebot!

We will begin presale online on MONDAY APRIL 12TH!

This year we teamed up with @julianshrago and Beachwood to brew a Dortmunder Style Lager using only 4 All American ingredients including Idaho Grown malt from @greatwesternmalt and Liberty Hops from @willamettehops in the Pacific Northwest.

This American Dortmunder Lager is based after a style from Dortmund in north of Germany in the Rhine region. It is a slightly maltier and a deeper golden color than a pilsner and a bit higher in alcohol at 5.8%, though retaining a similar hop profile as the German Pilsner.
The red, black and gold in the label represents the Dortmund City Flag which is half red half white with a black and gold eagle shield in the center.

Brewing the American Reinheitsgebot Collaboration Series is celebrates German beer history, American Beer history, craft beer innovation and the amazing relationships built in the craft beer industry. We can't wait to share this beautiful lager with you! Prost!

My order was just delivered today. This one’s always a treat. Guess I’ll have to get through this order quickly so that I can order that Beachwood collab. Really excited for that one.

 

To absolutely nobody's surprise, I'm super stoked about the Enegren/Beachwood collab. We need to make it possible for Enegren and Moonlight to collab and destroy the CA lager world

 

No...san andreas fault would finally blow, the rest of CA would turn into a fire bomb while the 49 other states would rejoice (only to then realize we were a huge part of the GDP...then they would be sad).

All that being said, I do need to get in another order for a case of reality czeck before they wisen up and stop shipping.

 

I totally temporarily forgot about dark lagers. Moonlight D&T is a given but I recently had their Black to Reality. I’m not sure if it’s better than D&T but definitely as good. Highly highly recommended.

 

I've really been enjoying that one too. I'm afraid I actually do like it better than D&T! Such malt complexity and barely over 5%.

 

I totally saw that one today and just sort of glanced past it. Didn't even register that it was a different beer than D&T. Will be needing to go get some to try

 

Eppig just canned Vienna Lager. Having one right now, it's tremendous. A tad caramel malt backbone and super quencher.

 

I took delivery of this this week also as well as the Maibock and Dunkel. All are delicious. Variety is the spice of life.
