Quick question. I am looking to eventually trade for some citra showers, kern citra IPA and alpine Nelson. I am looking to gauge the availability of these to see what I should be offering. Thanks much for your help.

Nelson would require a san diegan (most likely).

You can check their website alpinebeerco.com and look at the webcam to see if bottles are in.

I will let others more local to Noble and KRBC speak to those, but pretty sure KRBC Citra would be a no go since those are lotteried and that happened months ago.

Well it totally depends on where in California you'll be. Regardless Kern Citra is way old by now. Citra Showers is mostly sold out as far as I've seen around the area but it was plentiful. Shouldn't have a problem with the Showers in the LA/OC area. Bottles of Alpine are mostly in San Diego, although its not impossible to find a trading partner in LA/OC with a couple.

I live 5 minutes from Noble and when I was there last week, they still had bottles of Citra Showers. Also doing growlers of it.

Looking at your location. I don't think you'd have any problems trading $4$ with NG.

Also latest Nelson bottles were put out 2 mondays ago. Still tastes fantastic so not like 2-4 weeks really has any negative effect on that one. But I would personally wait until the next batch comes out (roughly 2 weeks would be my guess) so that the shipping time added on will still make it about a week old.

But yes, NG should easily get you what you want $4$. Hell, I would gladly cruise down to Alpine for some Nelson bottles to trade for NG because then I have a reason to go to Alpine and eat bbq and drink as much bad boy as I can (assuming it is on).

I just had my last Kern River Citra about a week ago and it's definitely old now. Don't waste your beer/time/money on it until the next time they release it, because you won't even get an idea of how good it can be at this point.

Thanks everyone for your help. Much appreciated. I just got some duet in a trade and from what I hear Nelson is even better.

There is normally a batch of KRBC Citra done for FWIB. Not sure if they will this year or if it will be bottled.

They posted this to FB, Twitter, and Instagram last week. I don't know the price per fill. You can see it listed as a growler fill bottom right.

I believe the formula is; Offer up New Glarus sours and fruit beers, get whatever you want from Cali...

lol...makes sense. I mean you could of bought 3 bombers for $27 (at the brewery) and got 2 more ounces. So why not just sell a growler fill for $30 for 2 less ounces?

I'm kind of used to ridiculous OC growler prices. I was shocked when I went to Alpine a few weeks ago and saw growler fills of Pure Hoppiness could be had for $16, Nelson for $14 (if I remember correctly. I know it was much cheaper to the growler fill prices we pay at the OC breweries.).

Yeah I wish noble would be around more of lower $20($25 max) range for their special fills.

I would imagine that the next bottling of kern river citra would be around October, as the summer time batch is typically Firestone and draft only.

@Swannyku if you wanted a quick fix of pretty fresh IPAs, you could probably score a quick 3-shipper trifecta of Citra Showers, Kern Just Outstanding (looks a new "drop" is arriving at shosp on IG) and something else.

I'm sure one of these other meanies could offer a recommendation.
