Yea that's right, you know who you are! It’s time to bust out your [gl]ass and showcase the most unique, distinct, fun and downright insane pieces of glass you have ever drank out of or do drink out of. A celebration of glass indeed! No filter, no rules, totally subjective and anything counts.
I'll let those that enjoy enjoy, buy I've seen some pictures that show the art, or lack there of, of the glass but do absolutely nothing to enhance the beer and I'm not fan. I see this thread being all about it though
It not all about anything. Thats why there are no filters and it totally subjective. If a pint glass that has special lettering or logo is unique to you then it counts!
It's not one of those sci-fi glasses made by someone on acid, and probably not that unique, but when I first got into craft I was drinking beer out of coffee mugs because I didn't have any beer glasses. I went to what is now my favorite craft store and was paying for a Kasteel beer when I mentioned my lack of proper glassware. The owner ran to the back room, and she came back with this promotional glass, and gave it to me. I only used it once for the Kasteel beer but it was the start of my craft habit and my glass collection. I get a kick out of brewery building in the base.
that is def unique and super artistic. I never see that glass being used for example on WBAYDN. Very cool!
Okay, I don't know what the hell this thing is. But for three bones at the Salvation Army store, I couldn't pass it up.
I don't know WTF that is either. And it looks awkward AF to drink. But my gosh. That pour is (those pours are) glorious. Well done!
My 'vote' is that this is a large Stange with a handle; a novel concept IMO. Cheers! P.S. Maybe I will have to start a poll-thread titled "Have beer glasses jumped the shark?"
My new favorite piece of stone wear. It will fit a crowler. I see a few low abv beers getting loaded in this guy...
I have quite a few glasses that I rarely use, but bought for their design, and the very official Glass Of The Day competition on WBAYDN?. These are my favorites!
The story behind this one was that I got Lucky Bucket's new Lucky Joe BBA Imperial Coffee Stout and liked it. I noticed on their Facebook page that they'd just had a release party the week before, and they had been giving away this matching glass. I contacted the brewery and asked if they had a glass left that I could buy. They said no, but they did have one someone from the release party left behind, so they sent it to me free. Free cool glass FTW.
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I believe that is a 1920s Soviet era cavalry tool used in their breeding program for collecting horse emissions. Cheers!
picture doesn't do the glass justice. i think the glass is technically for whiskey but does a great job with heavy stouts
I thought about posting this one in the stein thread, but I decided it would fit better here. Prost! And, for your enjoyment, a "fantasy piece" I picked up in the gift shop during a tour of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant:
I’m old enough to remember when Yard House actually served full yard glasses of beer. Even on my 21st birthday I passed.
Hand blown by "Arab Boy" and acquired at Pennsic War (Some people will know what that is and who Arab Boy is) Anyway, Viking style drinking glass; apparently when drinking out of a horn wasn't high class enough, they used ceramic and glass. One had to finish the drink before it could be set down. But us modern folk (Most of us anyway) are not as able to guzzle down large quantities quickly and repeatedly (an empty horn was not a good thing!) Skol indeed @GreenBayBA
It's an opener/artwork from 1981. Real hefty bronze and steel, and the center of the bottom is a magnet so the cap sticks around. You can find them on Ebay from $25 to $100 plus, some defaced with poorly printed advertising and some engraved.
I believe only half yards now. Bartender said people would break the yards all the time. Not sure if that’s why they aren’t available any more or what.
No way. Half yard is the biggest option they have now. Apparently serving someone 3 feet of beer isn’t responsible.
