I miss dressing up for the Great Pumpkin Fest. So much Rumkin

My prize costume was a handmade Barth from YCDTOT. I wish someone somewhere had a photo

Dang it! I was at CBC last night entranced by Cerise Cassee and neglected to get a pour of Ben's beer. I definitely would have partaken had I known it was a collab with Otherlands but I don't think there was an indication on the beer list. Maybe I'll pick up a growler and drink it in my Enlightenment stemmed glass!

Tough choice either way with Cerise on. This batch is excellent

Anyone else go to Sour Fest? Had lunch and tried 3, moved on to the Ben Howe collab. Brought home a growler of it too, so that's my tomorrow. I love CBC so hope others made it out.

Had a great time later in the day. Between the two of us we tried most but not all. Highlights were Lemon Yellow Sun, Funk Me Pumps, and Dance Band on the Titanic. The 2018 vs 2023 Cerise Cassee comparison was really interesting. I liked the 2018 much better. The 2023 is very sherry forward in both nose and taste.

Oh, and biggest surprise was the Pick a Bigger Weapon. I normally would shy away not only from a Brett IPA, but one brewed with mosaic...and from 2021? But it was great! Will Myers is a genius.

The three I had were Dance Band On The Titanic (really good), 2023 Cerise (good but not my favorite), and Pick A Bigger Weapon (also very good). Sad we didn't cross paths, but glad you had a good time.

I need to go back to try Perfect Sound Forever. @Sheppard how does it compare to Notch's Czech offerings?

I think I will be able to better share how it is tomorrow when I tackle a full growler of it.

I had it last weekend. It’s good, but my limited opinion is that it’s not as good as Notch. I say limited because I already had some beers that day so my palate was a bit fatigued. Their Kolsch is damn good, but it kicked when I was there. Their Irish Stout was also really solid.

Heading there today to have some sours. Decided I wanted to go on the Sunday and enjoy them with less of a crowd.

I don't know how crowded it got but around lunch time, it was pretty chill. Back room was kinda empty, bar mostly full, tables out front mostly full. The weather was very crappy at that time too. It wasn't like barleywine fest at all. I think the fact that this started at noon allowed for things to be more spread out vs the 4 pm start and potential rare beer (Pretty Things) on offer for barleywine fest.

We were there at 445 and it was busy but not mobbed like barleywine fest. When we left a bit after 6 it had started to fill in and there were a lot of folks outside enjoying the sunshine.

Agreed that Irish stout is very good. Had it during a work lunch there last month and was really pleased with my choice.

They just posted on IG that all of the sours are available today. So bring some tums and go nuts!

Thought Perfect Sound Forever was really good. I think I preferred it from the growler vs draft but perhaps the three half pours of sours I had prior might have clouded that experience. I think it's one of the best lagers to come from CBC. I was worried because I had high expectations.
