So Citra's going to be released next Friday and I'm thinking of making it over there. I'd also like to make a short camping trip out of it. Are there any camping sites that you guys would recommend?

I've stayed at Tillie Creek Campground, it was nice and shaded, and a short drive to the brewery, you have to walk or drive maybe 1/2 of a mile to get down to the lake.
I've also stayed at the "Auxilary Dam Campground" It's cool cause you can camp right on the lake shore, but it's about a 15 min. drive to the brewery and there is no shade.

I've never camped anywhere closer to the brewery or on the Kern River itself, we always seem to camp on the lake.

Stay in town. There's a RV park near the bridge downtown and a bunch of campsites just up the river (within walking distance).

I was just there a couple months ago and camped about 5 miles north of Kernville (the upper Kern River area) at Camp 3. More info about that general area here: http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sequoia/recreation/visitor-guide/upper-kern-river.html

It was a nice campsite. No showers, but you're right along the river so you can just dunk in there (and you'll want to with how damn hot it'll be). Decent amount of shade depending on which spot you get.

I've camped just north of KRBC last year. There are several free sites and fee sites.
