My base level for Chloride in my water is 67. I use tap water with a campden tablet to remove chlorine and or cholarimine. My questions are, will the campden tablet reduce my chloride level to zero? If so can I add Calcium Chloride to increase my chloride level or will the campden tablet continue to knock the chloride out of the water?
    Cheers

Chlorine is an element and is used to kill bacteria in drinking water. This can be removed by Campden tablets. Chlorides are what you get when chlorine reacts with elements , the chlorine is locked up and the tablets don't affect them.

Sorry I am still a little confused. I want to use my tap water to build a water with around 50ppm chloride. I currently use campden tablets to get rid of the chlorine. How would you reccomend I build this water profile.

Step 1: Use campden to get rid of the chlorine.
Step 2: Add Calcium Chloride or Gypsum to build to whatever chloride ppm you want
    Step 3: Carry on.

Whatever ppm of chloride you have before you add the campden is how much you'll have after adding the campden. Campden will not affect chloride levels.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, but maybe clarifying...

    Chloride <> Chlorine

To the kettle to affect flavor. To the mash to affect both mash pH and flavor.
