Do we have many can collectors on here? There is a great free publication in London called Original Gravity which featured some content from a chap who runs steelcanvas.com. I had no idea such communities existed. Some of the old 70's / 80's cans are great.
I think @woodychandler is a big can nut... you might want to reach out to him, or perhaps have this posted in the Breweriana forum as well.
I used to collect cans when I was a kid back in the 70's. Now I have about 50 displayed behind the bar and 500-600 in storage. If anybody is near Philly and wants a bunch of cans cheap (meaning free, or maybe buy me a beer sometime) let me know.
I've been collecting cans for years. There I so many craft / micro breweries using cans these days that it is impossible to keep up. I have been more focused on just keeping cans I have personally consumed.
Sort of! I am into CANned beers, but the spent aluminum cylinders go to Jeff Lebo for his house of CANs. He CAN be reached via [email protected] or [email protected] You may use my name in communicating with him.
I also was a can collector in college in the 70's. I still have my 1100 stored away. I was an early member of the BCCA (Beer Can Collectors of America). I went to many trading sessions and had a blast. Today's equivalent for me is my brew club meetings, and that is a day I look forward to each month.
l found this 1975 beauty at the base of some tall grass while off-trail hiking. lt is unopened and in immaculate condition especially for having been there 20 or so years at the time.
