Mostly just that you are wrong. Even the thread you posted clearly states that human error in not setting the SF = 0 to de-energize the circuit in the case of failure caused the issue. Not the failure of the temp controller or the freezer.

The controller/freezer set isnt going to fail and freeze your beer. Your post was just concern trolling.

Concern trolling? More like offering a valid opinion on a question that was posted in a public forum. You need a beer and a hug.

Your whole human error argument can be avoided if you don't put beer in a freezer in the first place. I can let a toddler play in traffic and hope that there is no human error but aren't you better off not letting the toddler play in traffic in the first place?

Again, OP asked about cellaring in a freezer and I gave my opinion that I wouldn't recommend it. I stand by my recommendation. You can age your beer in a brick oven for all I care.

Converting a standup freezer to fridge very soon. Freezer is here. Just need to pick a controller.

But yeah... @TWStandley... dude, you are not offering a valid opinion. Basic high school electronics course should have taught you how fridges and freezers work. Heck, basic electronics course of any kind.
The freezer CEASES to be a "Freeze"r as soon as you swap in a controller that will prohibit it from reaching freezer temps. People like to use converted freezers as they are far more insulated than typical fridges (since their original purpose was to keep items frozen), and thereby more efficient as they maintain temp and new controller will only ask it to work a fraction of the time as compared to a fridge.
