People are still going to drink something. Who would have thought that people would spend a buck for a flimsy plastic bottle of tap water? Coke and Pepsi are dealing with the decline in soda drinking by breaking out of the straightjacket. Why not sell better, but delicately flavored, low-alcohol brews with a healthy life-style tie-in? Still have high margins and customers still swill happily, in between bottles of astoundingly expensive triple IPAs, of course.

Following theory can work, but if you start from wrong assumptions you often wind up with wrong answers.

Yeah, what other people choose to drink doesn't really matter to me at all, for some reason .

I'm pretty sure Miller would prefer to see that position reversed (or not at all).

The constant bashing of beers like Bud is kinda ridiculous. Don't like it don't drink it, I rarely drink Bud but I do drink AALs when I feel like doing so. As far as the marketing side that's their business too, as in they're business, they have shareholders their commodity is beer. It's a free market economy if you don't like either part of their business don't buy it. Personally I agree, I could care less what others drink, the craft place I go to I'd say the most popular beer bottle on the bar would easily be Bud Light. On Fridays it's packed so add Coronas on Fridays. They have over 35 taps as well covering most styles from Pils to IPAs to Stouts and Porters. Lots of beer drinkers just want a nice place to drink their beer, hang out, have a few wings and such, and a huge amount of what they want isn't necessarily craft.

Just think, in 20 years some little craft brewery somewhere will make a Bud clone as a throwback to days gone by.

People will always drink aal and bud isn't going anywhere. I do think that the way the market is changing well see more and more people start drinking craft and they will have to adapt. Even in a world where the majority of people are drinking better beer they will continue to buy up breweries or launch their own to compete. I still think it be great to see the majority of beer be non light lager styles even if I don't see it affecting the big guys as much as this article thinks.

Articles like this are little more than internet pornography for craft beer geeks.

The best part is the photo caption: "Revelers celebrate with a pint after prohibition is repealed" under the photo where nobody is drinking a pint. It must have been a symbolic gesture by the authors to point out that a text often makes claims that don't accurately reflect the picture.

The basic idea behind the article is that AB is pushing a product that is slowly but surely dying out in popularity. As the beer drinking population ages, the younger beer drinkers have no interest in beers like Bud.

I don't recall the exact statistic, but I remember reading fairly recently that a large percentage of Millennials have never had Bud - and don't care to.
