CANBIF Fall 2014 - Hints and hauls

I like beer so almost anything unticked is good (see over at RB under the same handle). I'll try to update my wants today but anything that is good/great to you is fine with me, although I'm a big saison and sours type of guy primarily. In fact, just don't build a box full of imperial stouts or else I'll still be drinking them in 10 years (I just don't drink them as fast as everyone else for some reason).

Now onto my target:

- Almost as west of me as it can be.
- Lives in a "Small" town (hopefully this isn't too obvious!! )

I should note that my box will likely arrive while I'm away in Belgium, so you won't see a haul photo until after October 13th.

 

Any chance we could get a full list of this rounds participants?

 

Just got back from Bellwoods..... Not much available in the bottle shop. Target did get an ale though. I had a bring out your dead. Very good but expensive. Sorry target, they would not sell one without opening it.

Rest of the box is done. Need to pack for shipping and weigh. No more than 40lbs so as much as I can get in there! It's going east so it should be there in around 10 days from now..... I really like almost anything (except smoked beer), so if you really like it, I am sure I will too! If I had to pick my favourite styles, I would say bigger stouts, wild/sours, IPA’s and Flander’s styles. My wants are up to date, but they are more of a wish list. My reviews are kinda up-to-date, but really, I don’t mind getting beers I’ve had in the past. Thanks in advance!

Box was dropped at the post office 5 minutes ago. If everything goes as planned my target should be able to drink something good this weekend!


CANBIF noob question of the day: Do I have to send the tracking number to FondueVoodoo and/or Phyl21ca?

 

Nope. Just keep posting hints as to how close it's getting to keep us all drooling ....

 

I'm debating waiting until Satori comes out to send my box, but I feel like it's still a few weeks away.

 

I think you should trust you first instinct...wait until it comes out !!!!

 

I work in a private liquor store and Satori has been pre-ordered, but no set date on when it'll be delivered. But I may just wait a little extra.

 

More hints:
-My target has over 1000 unique checkins, but will mostly be getting beer he hasn't had before. Just a few old favourites thrown in.
-My target has what some may consider an untraditional job.

 

I'm busy over the weekend with a music festival and come late to the party (2 pages in). O well

First what I like/want: anything good I haven't had (ratings are all on RB under the same username). Honestly if its good and I haven't had it I will be happy regardless of the style. Ideally it would be something I can't just go out and buy but if it no worries. Style preference is saison, ipa, stouts and one-off interesting beers. Probably don't want pumpkin or spiced/herb beers but if they are tasty and I haven't them then who cares...throw them in the box.

Hint #1: My target is to the west of me, trades a fair amount, and has access to some delicious NW beers.

 

Added a bunch of barrel aged beers to my "cellar" over the week-end, some or all of which will end up in a big 'ole box.

Hint #3: My target lives in a province with a deciduous Provincial tree.

 

Oh yes, please no pumpkin beers either!! Not a huge fan at all.

My favourite styles are IPA and stouts, not a huge fan of fruit beers or brown ales, but if you think it's good I will try anything. Something to note if you're sending me something from Ontario, we have good access to most of Amsterdam, Muskoka, and Lake of Bays stuff here now at the government liquor stores.

I'm sending to someone west of me. For the first time since I've joined a CanBIF I'm not the participant located the farthest east!

 

My target has a cellar hq of under 100, and seems to be quite young. As well we both really like the same band.

As well, he's going to have to wait a week or two before I send his box as there are quite a few local releases coming out that I want to include.

 

Since I have young kids AND I'm creeping my target on google earth: The big bad wolf will have some issues if little piggies hide out in my target's house.

My target's weather forecast for the next week looks pretty similar to my local forecast as well.
