    Hi, my name is yardsale.

***My favorite number for the month of October is 51.

*** If you are cool with receiving growlers/crowlers please post as such.

Skip to the bottom for lazy man notes.

    To my Dearest Sender:

I've had a few beers : YARDSALE DRINKS BEER. It's pretty up to date, but not entirely.

I like all beer. I'm not picky. I don't really 'tick', as I really don't care about whataver the latest craze is. I swear if you send me and exploding can of Dole fruit pulp, I'll be very cross with you after I consume it.

Give me your downtrodden Marzen, the crestfallen Roggenbier, and the listless London Porter. Supply me with your surplus Kettle Sours and Belgian Pales and Wee Heavies, for I will give them a new life and help fulfill their purpose on this earth. I am a man of refined taste, and as such have a special place in my heart for the following :
    - English Barleywine. Old Ale. Eisbocks
    - Saisons
    - West Coast IPAs and Black IPAS. Yeah those old school palate blasters and they style that every brewery only makes like once.
    - Well made ESB or Export Stouts.
    - Anything with Rye in it. or has been in a rye barrel.

Ideally I'd get your box of local bangers and one of the bottles or cans is an atrocity. I am asking you to send me one of the worst craft offerings you can get your hands on. 100% serious on this. Got a 5 year old Brewdog Punk IPA under the couch in the basement or an Imperial Milk Dortmunder aged in Fireball barrels with eggplant and garlic? You better believe I want it. Please include one (1) awful beer and don't tell me what one it is. I want it to be a surprise.

I'm also cool with receiving swag and growlers. My girlfriend says I can't buy any more growlers but, she never said anything about receiving them. If you do decide to hit me with swag so I can flex on all the people that rave about Granville Island, coaster/shirts/hats/glassware is acceptable ( all can be size L, especially the coasters, what I mean is: steal me a brewery sign.)

    TL / DR
    - I want everything and anything.Props for the following: Saisons, Stouts (BA or not), any barleywine, anything sour, Rye beers, extreme/obscure styles, clean Pilsners. and one REALLY BAD beer you have.

    love yardsrd

To my sender, I’ve been known to consume beers of all styles. I am on instagram (mike.legge) and have posted a good portion of the beers Ive enjoyed! I enjoy new beers and returning favorites!

Some of my favorite styles are fresh IPA/DIPA, farmhouse, saisons, grisette, most things BA or foudre aged, especially wine barrel, wild ales, mixed/spontaneous fermentation, I love interesting beers that have some uniqueness. I also love a good stout (regular and/or BA) every now and then especially with winter coming. But will drink most anything that is well made!

I don’t have too many specific wants but am a huge fan of breweries such as Anchorage (Time Waits for No One and Darkest Hour are the only 2 specifics I can think of currently), Jester King, Auval (gun to head favorites these would be top 3), anything from those places would be amazing obviously. Have not had much from the US in the way of hops. Also have not tried much from the West Coast (BC or US) and would love the chance to try some brews from there!

The styles I typically don’t enjoy are anything Pumpkin, heavily spiced beers (cinnamon, nutmeg etc.), hefeweizen, anything smoked, black IPA’s, and beers heavy with lactose (Milkshark being the exception). But I’m open if you have one that you think is a must try!

The big thing for me is to try interesting beers I can’t get around here. Odds are if you like it I will!

My target will be recieving a box loaded with East Coast goodies (which we have in spades) and some cellar pulls. Hopefully they post a fairly detailed wants list so I can tailor a box to their specific preferences!

    I'm going with #75.

I like all kinds of beers and don't really have a preference. My ratings are all logged on BA and I am also on Untappd as Boutip.

Another canbif, another likes/dislikes post, seems like just yesterday I was explaining to you all about how I feel the Irish Red ale was a trash style brewed by trash people for trash palates. Sigh, time flies.

anyways... I like most well made beer and some terribly brewed garbage. If I'm having a beer after work I usually reach for a well crafted lager, or something hoppy and fresh. I love big f-off stouts, barleywine, dopplebock/eisbock and old ales. I enjoy mixed ferm saison/farmhouse/grissette/warehouse/whatever of both the wood aged and stainless aged varieties. I am shameless about my love of novelty beer (pumpking is my jam), I will tangle with a pastry stout, I will mess with a dumbass beer brewed with a book or some shit in the mash... try me. Like most people these days I enjoy lambic and lambic like nonsense. I like smoked beer. I would love cider, ice cider or mead. I love brewery swag, I wear an XL shirt.

I don't really enjoy Irish Red Ale, beer with watermelon or Cascadian Dark Ale... or when people refer to Cascadian Dark Ale as a Black IPA.

    My number is 42.

My untappd is TheBeerHobo should you feel like looking at it.

To my sender(s), thank you in advance for all the hard work and time.

Beers I like - Dry, funky or clean saisons. Wild ales. Sours. Well made British style ales and practically anything in the lager family. Barleywines. Barrel-aged almost anything (as long as not diabetes sweet or a diacetyl bomb).

Beers I dislike/drainpour - Anything with lactose. Anything with oats added to give “haze.” Diabetes stouts. Most IPAs (Alchemist is my go-to).

Thank you to my senders and I’m half sorry you drew my name

I don't think anyone has said number 3 yet?

I like anything well made and love trying new things. That said, also super happy to revisit old classics. Would be very happy to get a box of things you love you drink and are fairly unique to where you live.

If I survived some sort of a doomsday scenario in a well stocked beer bar, I'd probably start by trying a taste of everything. From there I would polish off the fresh hoppy stuff - 'cause you know, I like it and it's there/not going to get any better. I would probably keep mixing in some funky but not overly sour beers as well (Allagash Little Brett is the kind of thing I'd like to drink every day). Some Imperial Stout and Barley wine would definitely come out on those cold nights, and gueuze on special occasions. Most of the German lagers would be well taken care of (filtered through my belly) soon enough, but some of the more sickly sweet beers will probably be used for cooking.

    My untappd is jaymek

Looking forward to another round of this!

    Lucky number 15!

I was extremely spoiled last time with some seriously great beer, I hope I can return the favor this time around with some gems from recent toronto releases and back catalogue cellar bottles.

I'm big on big stouts, Barrel Aged, high ABV, chocolate, coffee goodness. Some of my favorites are Cafe Del Bastardo, KBS, and Big Bad Baptista.
IPAs are great, no matter the style.

Dislike saisons and farmhourse style beers. They are completely wasted on me. I've tried but even HF stuff is just not my bag. I'm a savage i guess.

And last time I joked about sending me some lambic and someone actually did! so lets keep pushing my luck! If anyone has any just gathering dust and taking up shelf space that you need to fill with fresh pilsner, I will fall on that sword.

oh, im also on instagram @torontobeerexchange just FYI, and join the facebook group Toronto Beer Exchange for Toronto trades year round.

Thanks Electros for putting this together. On first pass it looks like it will be pretty easy to put a box together for my target, which is good because that way I can seek out what I would want to drink!
