Where's everybody?

Box's ready to go and will be shipped tomorrow.

A couple of hints:

Box is going West to a province I sent to in a previous CanBIF.
Knocking on wood that the box will be there by Friday.

 

Installment one of my bounty landed last Friday! Many thanks to Electros. it's funny you said call in sick Friday... I did, but because I was. These have all new to me beers have been taunting me!

To my target:

I'm going to ship one week from tomorrow, on the 23rd - this way I can pick up a new release that will fulfill your desires, along with many other mostly local rarities in a fairly narrow range of styles. You are west of me, where I bet beer with dark berries that grow on bushes are (or at least were) popular!

 

Well that was certainly a nice surprise today... a mystery package shows up and I had no clue what it could be. Very cool.. thank you very much, and thank your lovely assistant!

 

Alright, finally having some sit down @ home time...
As of this moment only one of my targets has posted here. Fortunately the silent one does have a history of posting. So, in spirit of sending good beer... if you are lurking about and you like this post I'll be sure to add something extra delicious to your box... if not I may just add it my other targets box.

Minor hints to my targets, you're both in cities near a body of water... one being a 'pond' 66% the size of my lovely Pacific and the other sadly it's only 0.02% the size of that pond.

To my senders, I lean towards stouts, sours, and saisons... however I'm really about just trying beers I've never had before. You can view of what I've entered(always backlogged) on untappd.

 

I have good news and bad news.

bad news: My two targets will have to wait until around friday next week, as I've been out at work in the middle of nowhere for a while.

The good news: Every single beer in both boxes will be a new tick according to my cyber stalking. You are both sneaky devils. My Alberta Beer run will be during AB Beer week, so there should be some neat things heading out to two cities I haven't been to in years, but have explosive beer scenes.

 

Just sent a 35 lb package out west to an area that was recently annexed. Scheduled to arrive next Tuesday.

 

Box dropped off at the post office, might as well drop a hint:

I've once sent a box to one of your regular drinking buddy.

 

Damn I'm very unlucky

 

yeah we should be ok, generally parcel delivery is their bread and butter... so they won't slow that process down.

Started amassing my boxes... figure I'm about 50% complete... though seems I have to be crafty to determine if my targets have had what I've put aside so far. Should be interesting to see how these boxes shape up =)

 

Well, I had not read the article above about the strike.

To my target, the box was dropped off at the post office. It is still in Gatineau where I left it, according to the website...

It has a long way ago. If I am correct, it is the third time I am sending beers from my area to the province where you reside. It will take a bit of time to get there. (And I was there over the summer for a conference.)

I looked for beers of your favourite style but they are a bit out of season which made it difficult to satisfy you in that respect. From memory, there should be only one such beer.

Nice that you mentioned your beer alias as I did a lot of enquiries! In an instantaneous world, your searches took quite a bit of time given the "few" beers you have tasted. At the moment of the selection, the box is full of beers you have not tried yet.

 

Box dropped off yesterday with 30 lbs of brewery fresh liquid awesomeness inside! . Expected to land Friday signature required so be home if possible, or a trip to the Post Office is in order, but there are several close-by so it'll be a short trip, The closest is only an 850m walk There is a chance of showers with a temp of 14deg so a light jacket may be a good idea that day.

 

A solid weighty box was just picked up for its long journey west. Apparently the box is scheduled to land Friday. Lots of Barrel aged goodness coming your way, unless I am mistaken, every beer in the box spent sometime in a barrel.

 

AND...it arrived safe and sound on my porch yesterday! I haven't cracked it yet - will probably have to wait a day or two as I have a paper due that has all my attention at the moment. but then again - I just might not be able to wait... we'll see.

Also, to my targets - I just returned from the wilds of Montana - and I missed this Tuesday free shipping, and don't really want to wait till next Tuesday with the whole strike stuff going on... so your boxes will be outbound tomorrow

 

Seems only a few of us being active on the forums this go around... and I have a history of not being that active!

Well last night I managed to extract one of my targets 'data' so now I can certainly finish off the box with some good surprises they'd want/like/enjoy. As for my other, from what I've gleaned off yourself... easy peasy nice and easy... you'll be happy!
