CANBIF, Fall 2022!

Down to the wire, but I'll play this round!

 

To my sender-

I'm into Saisons - both mixed ferment and clean, Lagers - leaning towards more classic Czech and German inspired stuff but also the NZ and Italian inspired ones, BA Stouts and Barleywines, well done wood aged Sours/Lambic and Wild Ales, NEIPA (freshness is really key on this one). Generally a fan of most well done Belgian inspired stuff.

Not a fan of enamel stripping acidity, lactose, smoothy/slushie sours, or pumpkin in beer. German and Belgian wheat beers can jump off a cliff for all I care.

Haven't posted yet, but I'm in this round. I'm really craving ticks this time (moreso than usual). Bonus points for rauchbiers, chilli beers, or anything else uncommon. Always a fan of big BA sippers, but I can enjoy anything. My hads can be found on untappd.

I'll probably be shipping sooner rather than later, as I picked up a couple of hoppy things in Maine recently.

 

To my senders, I'm only interested by Barrel Aged release. If you can't find enought, Stouts releases are something I will never say no.

I don't like any hops variant.

To my sender.....not into sours at all, but love big beers (milk stouts, scotch ales, triples and quads) Collabs/one offs are always welcome and other than the sours Im game for most styles.....German/Belgian style Hefes are another favorite....oh big IPAs Im not a fan of either, but nice milkshake styles are fine

 

To my sender:

1) I am in the dark, strong, and malty beers. Any Imperial stout, Barleywine, Scotch Ale, Wee Heavy, etc., makes me happy. I am good with any adjuncts and flavours. If they are barrel aged, it's a double kill.

2) I like fresh hoppy beers, IPAs, DIPAs, TIPAs, QIPAs, well made hoppy Pale Ales. I am more on the East and hazy side, but I also don't mind Westier clean stuff.

3) We are good friends with sour, funky, Belgian-ish styles.

4) I would be interested in trying weird beers like bacon-honey-garlic Stouts or so

DONT'S:
I am not really in "light and crisp." Lagers, Pilsners.
More classic styles like a Wheat beer or Red Ales

I cannot wait to get my package and unwrap all the beer one by one. It's almost like Christmas.

I am not too picky. I like anything well made. I am a huge fan of the big flavour IPAs and stouts as long as they are not overly sweet but honestly would be happy with anything good.

I like anything that tastes good.

However, I do try to stay at the lower end of the ABV scale (about 6% ABV or lower) most of the time, although I do open the occasional 10%+ BA stout as well. Favourite styles are APA's, IPA's, Witbiers, Lambics, BA stouts and other session-able type stuff. Not really big on sours as I seem to have a whole bunch of those aging away already that I need to get to.

Really, if you think it's something that is worth trying I'm game.

 

Oh, I'm not also big on Lagers and Pilsners either usually, unless it's a must-try. For example, Bellwoods did 'Bellweiser" that I really liked.
