CANBIF - From the Cellar, 2022! (Round IV)

Looking forward to this one! I'm pretty easy to please, almost anything cellar-able is right in my wheelhouse. I'm not big on sours but honestly I'm happy to try anything my sender wants to throw in the box. Cheers!

LIKES: Coffee in beer! Like everyone else on here, I enjoy old ales, barleywines, and BBA stouts that aren't diabetes sweet. I'd be happy with anything barrel-aged that isn't stomach-dissolvingly acidic or tastes of diacetyl. I like quads/dubels, but find tripels too spiced. Anything dry and clean. Wee Heavies. Gimmie that crazy ABV shit. Well-made or innovative mead (Schramm's, B. Nektar). Or beers that incorporate mead/wine or grapeskins/must.

DISLIKES: Smoked beers. Rum barrel-aged. Lactose in beers other than milk stout. Most spiced or fruited beer. Most recent IPAs - DIPAs are great, but not NE IPAs. I don't tend to like IPAs with a piney profile or hop burn/aggressive hopping either. As a rule, I tend to find most lagers skunky.

Target 1: You live close to two different Costco! What a world. What convenience!

Target 2: You live near a neighbourhood name checked in one of my favourite songs by one of my all time favourite bands. The song also mentions drawing with sugar and a beverage tasting bad. Have you heard it?

 

Got a package ready to be shipped out early this week, to a recipient very far east of me.

 

Earlier iterations of this BIF suggest an affinity for barrel aged beers Mr. Target. I will endeavour to lean heavily in that direction. It may be another week or so before I get the box out, but I will send before the window closes.

Sorry for my tardiness! Was on vacation for a little bit.

I like big malty beers (both dark and amber). Barrel-aged ones are great. Cognac barrels rule-- rum too, and of course bourbon. Adjuncts are fine but the fresher the better if adjuncts are involved (IMHO).

Not a huge lactose fan but I will drink it.

I don't particularly care for sour beers, unless you think it is truly remarkable/special. Balanced tartness is ok in a mixed-ferm saison kind of setting-- I like a nice white wine BA mixed-ferm saison. No "aged" clean saisons please-- that ain't right.

TL;DR send me good beers and I will be happy =)

 

To my target: you live west of me (duh), but not as far west as some folks in the thread.

I think that maybe your nominal township may only have 1 Tim Horton's, which is kind of blasphemous if you really think about it.
