CANBIF - From the Cellar, 2023!

To my sender. I am a malty boy. Will be happy to get all the high abv malty beers. Stouts & Barleywines and all the "derivatives". Don't mind any barrels or adjuncts

 

I like everything that one usually cellars. Sadly though, my gut does not tolerate lambic/wild beer anymore. I get terrible indigestion if I have more than one small glass once or twice a year. So, I save that for Zwanze. luckily for my target, I have a tonne of lambic/wild beer and plan to include some.

Barleywine is a favourite. Stouts, dark beglians, old ales, etc. all great. I track my beer here if you want to find something new for me. Always happy to revisit though.

Happy to be back in for another round!

As far as cellar stuff, I go for BA Stouts and Barleywine, Lambic and Wild Ales, both mixed ferm and clean Saison, and big Belgian stuff. Big fan of balance overall.

Not nuts about smoked beer, anything that is just called “sour”, or lactose heavy sugar bombs.

Stuff I haven't had that I can't get in Alberta would be ideal but I'm not gonna complain if I need to revisit something awesome I've had in the past......

Anything that tastes good is fine with me, although I am particularly fond of barrel aged stouts when it comes to cellar-able stuff. Lambic is good as well, although really, anything that you think I need to try is perfect.

 

Always in for something new and delicious.
I don't enjoy wine-aged beers. Everything else is fair game.

 

To my sender - Like a few others, not into sours. Also don't care much for the wine-aged ones.

I like all the big, bad, high ABV stouts, barleywines, belgian beers, barrel aged all the better, and fine with adjuncts and dessert varieties.

Is MN Manitoba? That is, MB is usually Manitoba and MN is Minnesota which is south of me. Also, 13 > 16 so it looks like we are doing double targets this year. Does that mean I still have a second target coming as I requested two as well?

 

My target is East of me but being a Vet of the Canbifs he probably already knew that....... and although he hasn't posted much this time around I think I have all the information I'll need from previous editions..........

 

I like big stouts, barleywines, Scottish ales, doppelbocks, etc. Anything big and malty. No lactose, please. Barrel-aged? Even better! Adjuncts welcome.

I also like Belgians, so any cool tripels, quads, super saisons, etc. are welcome

Not a big fan of sours. Brett saisons are good in my book, though.

Finished a 70hour week at work yesterday and I’m officially on vacation, I might not have service for a while so please forgive the “all in one” post. Box dropped off at PO this morning, I packed it up last night after watching the UFC, what a sick card, just ridiculous, anyways…… when I was digging around in my storage locker afterwards looking for packing materials (while shitfaced) I noticed my targets name on one of the boxes,WTF? That tripped me out, I guess our paths have crossed before? He might recognize some of the packing materials in the box, fair warning I woke up with one sock on, couldn’t find it anywhere….. I apologize if it ended up in the box…..I’m sorta kidding…..kinda serious lol…..friends don’t let friends pack up beer boxes while wasted…..
I don’t think he’s all that worried about hints to be honest as he’s all about the beer, lol, doubled my tics on Untapped is not French(I assume) and doesn’t live in the Maritimes.
If he reads this post before the box arrives he’s gotta good chance figuring out who sent it!!
