CANBIF - From the Cellar, 2024!

Hint to my target... my box is going east. There's a city in the US that share's your city's name, which would take you about 15 hours to drive to.

I have a third of your beers so far, and will pick up a few more things this week.

 

Hint 1: Headed west, to a popular hub to the rest of the world

We are currently hit with an unfortunate strike with our liquor store, but that's good news for my target. A selection has been picked, all up your alley, and well-aged. I have avoided past vintages you enjoyed for the variety of the chase.

 

Hint 2: Springfield Elementary

 

Looks like my package could be delivered in (Hint 3) the Texas of Canada today.

Woohoo! I suspect you are my sender! My tracking info says they left a notice (we have community mailbox centres in my neighbourhood), but I just went to go check for it and there wasn't a notice... this isn't the first time I've been annoyed at the postal worker in my neighbourhood! I'll have to go to the usual PO that I pick up at and see if I can pick it up by providing tracking info.

My package is going west (obviously).

My likes Big malty beer (barrel aged or stainless) lambic, cellarable english beer, stupid gimmicks (pudding beer or whatever), bretty or balanced mixed ferm beer.

Dislikes: sour beer (i don't want to drink that 6 year old flanders red that you are scared to open) lactose in everything, red wine barrel aged things.

My box will be going out very soon.

 

As usual, I'm late to post... so since we're talking from the cellar... I'm game for all the `cellarables`... thus no IPAs, Lagers, or other brew that are meant to consumed now and not later. Generally I'm all for new beers, but if I really enjoyed it before I wouldn't say no to it again. Beer I've had are mostly tracked here.

 

Hint 2... my target's city name is an Anishinaabemowin word, which is the language of its indigenous Ojibwe peoples.

Glad to see they got to you safe and sound. The Saulter Street Belgian was made in 2020 so it has a mask on in the logo!

 

Hey gang - I may be late to the party but if my senders are still selecting at all, generally like all the big bad stouts, barley wines and other heavy malty beers, adjuncts are totally fine, barrel aged is always a plus...really not into sours or wine-barrel aged beers, but happy to try anything - so hard to go wrong really!

My boxes are both heading east, and will be in the mail by Monday at the latest!

1. The Olde Deuteronomy is a 2017 vintage
2. The Perepllut barley wine won a gold medal for the style in the 2023 Canadian Brewing Awards
3. Dead Moon Night is only released once per year!
4. Into the Void is a taproom exclusive for Establishment, no distribution!
5. The Blindman imperial stout is one of four in a series of different barrel variants of their Ichorous imperial stout!
6. Dark Arts is brewed at the same brewery that Temporal Artisan Ales produces all of their big beers (e.g. Void Series)!
7. The Banished Imperial Stout is the only one of the lot that's not from western Canada-- I never had much access to Newfoundland beers even when living in Nova Scotia, so I thought it was quite novel to see that out here. I think that's a once-per-year release as well.
8. Pomp & Circumstance is the only lager of the bunch!
