CANBIF - FROM THE CELLAR 2025!!!

I'll be shipping mine off next week to someone I've traded with in the past (guess that's everyone at this point?). A special release is coming out this Friday, so you'll be getting a treat.

Enjoy! The Occultation can is made by Temporal Artisan Ales-- he was a sort of "nomad" brewer doing big beers and saisons as well, but now has a space that's co-used by Slowhand & Boombox Brewing. The Doppelganger is a collab with Temporal and Slowhand. That one is only 7% or so abv so I wouldn't cellar it too long, but it's a really good doppelbock that I felt fit the bill with the theme of this CanBIF (and as with any good lager, the beer would've been "cellared" before release ).

Also, the Olde Deuteronomy is a great barleywine that Alleykat stopped making. I haven't seen any vintages after 2018... hoping they rebrew it someday.

I'd recommend that the Founder's Breakfast Stout be drank as fresh as possible. Any beer with coffee should be treated almost like an IPA with respect to packaging dates, in my opinion (if you want the really good fresh coffee character). Same with fruited Lambics! The flavours of those fresh ingredients just fade with time. Solid beer!

 

agreed. That won't make it past the weekend, Founders stouts are some of the best

I am not sure who the generous sender is, but they nailed it. Thank you! Haven’t tried any of these before outside of the Unibroue and Boulevard beers (and they are great) and looking forward to cracking all of ‘em open. Can’t figure out the dates on most of these, but some have definitely been cellared for years given the “best before” date. And a special mystery brew I assume is a home brew - what’s in the bottle?

I haven't used it in many years. My philosophy is if it's really good, I'll remember. If it's really bad, I'll remember. If it's just "meh", then worse case scenario, I'll try it again.

 

The box I sent landed this last Monday...
