I am a big fan of stouts, porter, and IPA, with stouts (RIS, imperial, aged) being my favorite style. I generally won't turn down any beer but if I was to pick something as a dislike it would be Belgian style strong ales, quads, dubbels, tripels.

I also enjoy trying peoples homebrew.

We received a couple of questions about the total volume requirements to I wanted to post here to clear it up for everyone.

Everyone should stick to the 110 oz minumim.

However, if you would like to include a few extras and your total volume exceeds the 150 oz maximum, that is ok. There is nothing wrong with generosity.

Is there a master list (that can be made public to us) to indicate who is participating in the BIF? Just curious to see who's been included...

Yeah, I am happy with most anything the more interesting the better. Ontario has its ups and downs, I don't really have access to other markets unless when I travel the US, only a couple times a year... The only beer I am not a huge fan of is lambics/sours... it is hit and miss on that, most miss.

These BIFs are fantastic, I can't believe I haven't done one yet! And such a great way to clear out those junk beers in my cellar that I don't want. Big box of low rated belgians from Vermont coming your way buddy!

I've basically come to enjoy everything (started liking Scotch ales after last BIF) EXCEPT and I must say please, please, please... no Rauchbiers. Anything hoppy (preferably fresh) RIS, barleywines, anything aged in barrels, the more sour the better, Belgian, Hefes (Come to think about it, anything other than Rauchbiers lol). You get the idea. I've reviewed almost everything I've had, and wants are up to date as well.

    Homebrews are more than welcome.
    Coasters are always welcome also.

I have access to Buffalo but not recently and just got back from Michigan (but I'll never turn anything down from there)

I can't even figure out how to get to them anymore! :stuck_out_tongue:

I should mention (as I was just reading an article about Pothole Filler) in case my BIF-guy has access to Howe Sound- I love their beers, and would be happy to see Pothole Filler, King Heffy, etc. I believe we only get Best Bitter here in Winnipeg. Of course, that's just one of a zillion brewers that I love, so no worries if you don't have access...

One way to have acces to wants or gots is to type on google the name of the ba + gots or wants. I.E." Tbadiuk wants" .

You can do the same for you to get to your wants list and then update them.

Huh...I thought I'd tried that and it didn't work earlier, but just tried again and it's work now? Probably poor typing the first time around on my part...:stuck_out_tongue:

For my 'wants', well, they're a bit whale-ish, so they're of no real use for this BIF I'd imagine. For beers that are more realistic, I don't have them on my 'wants' even though I never say no to more bottles. I love DDC's Aphrodisiaque, Hopfenstark Postcolonial and various other beers they make, love Ommegang Abby Ale, Rare VOS, the list is endless really! Really depends on what province my BIF-guy is in, although pretty much all provinces have local stuff I love...

Is there a reason that getting to wants / gots hasn't been made easier? I haven't kept up with the updates/changes to the website so just curious.

Envelopes? Could we persuade you to re-consider and use bags at least?

I have no updated Wants/Gots, or even ratings, because I'm too damn lazy. Alberta gets a ton of beer, but it's different enough from the beer make up of other provinces so I'm not too worried about overlap. Even if there is a little overlap, I have no problem drinking a fine beer I've already ticked.

......daaaamn. Whatever is in that bag looks might fine. Major props to whoever drinks a zip lock bag of yellow liquid that's send to them in the mail.

    Hello there,

There are not too many styles of beer that I will not touch. That being said, like all on here, I'm not interested in any macro adjunct lager. Blond lagers in general are not up my alley. I'm not a HUGE fan of Wheat beers, but have been buying more lately - especially stronger and more interesting variations. I'm not big on Lambics either.

I live in Montreal, I have regular access to all craft brews made in Quebec, so I'd like to avoid overlaps, but I understand that not always possible. I regularly go to Ontario to pick up bottles, so if you are from there, and are able to get stuff that's not available at the LCBO, i would be a happy man.

So what I like: Double IPA's, IPA's, Imperial Stouts, Stouts, Barleywine, APA's, English pale ales, bitters, Scotch Ales, Belgium fare - tripels, Quads, Doubles, etc... Altbier, Dopple Bocks, and so on. I tend to like stronger stuff.

If you were able to get any American craft brews, I'd be very interested as I never get down there.

    Thanks so much!
