CANBIF Spring 2015 - Hints and Hauls

Shipping out to my target on Monday.

Final hint: If my target were a professional athlete, they would have played it at least 1 all-star game in their chosen sport, but probably never would have won a championship.

Question: I remember in a previous CANBIF that someone posted how to fit an extra 331ml bottle or two into a full styro shipper...but I can't find it (read: too lazy/tired to look ). Anyone have advice on how they did it? Thanks!

 

I fit the two 473ml cans into mine this time, but it was a different design on the inside that enabled me to do it.

 

Some 12 shippers seem to allow for two cans sideways due to the shape of the upper styro's cavity. Others have 12 individual tube openings, and would need surgery to get anything else in.

 

Soooo.....my wife tells me there was a FedEx slip waiting for me when she got home today (tbatiuk???). I"m stuck at work late tonight, so she tells me she's alread asked for the package to be held at the distro center for me to pick up. Super excited, but I have wait till Monday to get it. Go CANBIF!

 

Did a bit of shopping for my target today. It will be a while before I can ship yet (after Portland) but the box is starting to come together nicely. Really excited to get this out and surprise somebody.

Saddened that I only have one of those amazing bottles to include in my shipper. Hope this is as big a "collection weekend" as I've been planning... But unfortunately I don't have a VT hotel until May 17 :-(

 

Got the last bottle today, who is a lady from a state not farm away from me (yeah that typo is intentional). Should be able to ship that 273 onces box Monday.

Hint #4: me and my target share two letters in our nicknames.

 

Wowee, I've got to step up my game now and get a few special bottles in even to match this!

 

My box was all ready to go and then my favorite local brewery goes and announces a new brett barrel aged beer to be released on Friday. What to do, what to do?

 

I'm having the same dilemma.
I'm leaning toward holding for a week, I can guarantee this won't have been accounted on my targets extensive review count.

 

After careful consideration, the box goes out ASAP. My target has indicated that he is not too fond of ______ style beers. (That was hint # 4).

Final tally is a little lighter than I'd hoped. Unfortunately, for CANBIF porch crushing, the best brewery in my neck of the woods uses 500ml bottles. The good news is, I packed a bunch of them into the box. What is it they say? Quality over quantity?

5 limited release barrel aged beers... check.
5 different types of barrels represented... check.
6 beers in the Canada Top 100... check.
6 more that would be, assuming they had the minimum number of reviews required... check.
12 beers not appearing on target's BA rated list... check.
12 beers that represent well the best of local brewing... check.

Hoping this gets to my target by next mid-week.
