CANBIF Spring 2016 - Hints & Hauls

Just went hop shopping in the US for my Target. He should be quite happy. All beers and breweries he's never tried.

 

Hint #2 - my target may be able to easily check in to a nearby cemetery when drinking Bring Out Your Dead, but they'll have a hard time finding an appropriate place to check in for a beer from space that's going in their box.

 

Good lord. Don't look at BA for a day or two and you miss all of this.

First a hint: you've already posted in this thread.

For whomever is sending to me I like beer. Ideally something new (rates/hads are up to date on that other site with the same username) but old favourites are welcome.

Love lighter abv beers - good saison, APA or ipa are delicious as things warm up here. Also like bretted anything, a good ris, things in barrels.

If you want to include some local cured meats I wouldn't object

 

Hint: my target doesn't live on the ground floor.

 

BTW, no problem with shipping now if you have your box ready.

I'm pretty open minded. If you think it's good I would love to try it. We are getting an increasing amount of stuff from Canadian craft brewers from west of the Maritimes now at the government store. As an FYI, here is the link to NB Liquor's listings for these:

Again, I am open to pretty much anything....but strongly flavoured beers would be lower on my "want" list....pumpkin, maple, etc. But if you think it's good, I still want to try it.

LOL... East of BC, had quite a few brews, wants Four Winds...

You certainly fit that description, along with a number of others!

 

I like pumpkin beers, though I wouldn't call it my favourite style. I also have no problem with pumpkin beers that are just spiced (i.e. Pumpkinhead). However, I find that I am not partial to maple beers in my limited exposure.

 

Hint # 2
My targets box is full of styles he likes and even though freshness isn’t an issue with any of them I might ship sooner than later anyways.

 

Hint # 2

He 'wants' lots of BC beers most of which are on the top 100. I will be happy to oblige.

He is also a crawling distance from the water.

 

I should also mention that my "wants" are mostly Top 250 and Canadian Top 100....don't worry about that, I want to try anything you think is local and tasty, although hitting everything on the Canadian list eventually is a goal.

 

Hint 1: My target is in a province that has my favourite hockey team, and has no parking on his street for 10 hours a day.

 

I feel your pain! I'm going mostly local, with some new & seasonal releases, keeping my targets styles in mind. I've been shuffling things in & out of the box... It's been a balancing act between styles, rarity and higher ratings!

 

Hint #2 After lurking around it appears my target doesn't have much in the way of ratings or check in's but I'm guessing they've tried a lot of beer.

Hint #3 - old black.

 

I'm not really fussy when it comes to beer. Sours, IPA's and Saisons are my favorites but I'm open to anything. My Wants list is more of a dream list so don't worry if you can't get anything on there. If you think it's good I'm sure I will.

 

To my sender, I don't need any unibroue as I had a variety box given to me.

My targets box is mostly local from KW as he has never had one from the local breweries

 

Hint # 2: I'm shipping to a city that my favourite Canadian band is from. This band is named after a song from my favourite band of all time. The latter band has 15 proper albums. Neither band is active anymore.

Also, this place appears to be a craft beer wasteland, I hope my box helps to improve that situation.
