Glad to be part of another round of CANBIF. I like all styles but I do have ton of sours at home so not sure I need a ton more. I also love small local micros that are not widely distributed.

To my sender... I very much enjoy barral aged brews, stouts, porters, sours, and saisons... however I'm all for drinking anything new that I've not had before.

To the unfortunate soul who drew my name,

I am an avid ticker and travel for beer quite a bit. My ratings on the other site (RB) are under the same name and are live. Although I have favorite styles, I am very pleased to try anything I have not had before. Preferences are to beers/breweries that see no distribution regardless of style. If you want to hit my style preference it is for light sours like Berliner Weisse or Gose or Smoked beers.

Hint 1:
My target is east of me, in a city I have not visited. I have sent a few boxes to this province, however. Your box will contain mostly Alberta beer, with a couple of west coast selections thrown in.

To my sender, if I had to get picky about things, I prefer IPAs and NEIPAs. I also enjoy pale ales, stouts, porters, saisons and a well made pilsner. I'll drink sours and fruit beers on occasion.

 

To my sender:

I'm pretty easy to please. I'm a bit of a ticker and you can find my hads on untappd (same username). I like a wide variety of styles, including chili beers and other random goodies. I don't mind pumpkin or spiced beers, but get ready for a few posters to state the opposite.

To my target:

I think I can put together a decent box for you. Perhaps even get you to expand your palate with some interesting local offerings.

 

Another Canbif under way, pretty good!

Hint: My box will be going west to a town near a big city. My favourite band and my favourite Canadian Pilsner are both from this city. I am pretty sure I have yet to meet or trade with my target.

I am a big fan of most well made beer. I love Saison, BA stout/barleywine, etc, well crafted IPA, Lagers... Like some, I enjoy rubbernecking at the occasional car accident (just please don't send me a box full of car accidents). I am not really a ticker, I will gladly reacquaint myself with beer that I have loved before. You can look at my untapp'd if you care. I am TheBeerHobo over there.

 

To my sender: here’s hoping you are able to send sooner rather than later. My spouse and I are currently trying to conceive, and it would be a shame for the box to arrive and I can’t enjoy any of it.

To my target: I have many great ideas and could send east in the next week or so, but need to know likes and dislikes before going and purchasing.

I'm a fan of just about anything - specially dem hazies. But nothing wrong with some barrel or enamel stripper as well. Untappd is barleyboyz.

Sadly I have only 1 pre-hint as my box is going out tomorrow.

You are pretty far east of me and seem to enjoy the IPA's which you are getting a solid amount off. 1/2 BC and a ton of exotics from all over the world.

 

To my sender:

I typically tend towards easygoing things like saison/grisette (especially when mixed-ferm or oak-aged/fermented), well-done lagers (typically Pils), and pale ales. I have been taking more of a liking to noble hops lately-- like how Bellwoods is incorporating more noble hops into their pale ales like "100." Or dry-hopped Italian-style Pilsners like Oxbow's "Luppolo."

IPAs are good too, of you think it's really good and worth sending.

I also have a soft spot for imperial stouts, barleywines, eisbocks, etc-- especially when barrel-aged. I like mixed-fermentation/brett beers for sure, but I don't like a ton of acidity.

All of this being said, I enjoy trying well-made examples of most styles!

Hey ya target. You are a man of few posts, but you seem to have a certain Canbif MO. I think I’ve tracked you down on Untappd and think I can get you a few things you’ll enjoy. You’re in one of my favorite Canadian cities. That city was also the birthplace of a ridiculous number of current elite NHL’ers.

Hey ya sender. Thanks in advance for an awesome box. I’ve never been disappointed by a Canbif. I’m pretty easy to please. I like all styles, except for pumpkin/yam/veg beers...which thankfully aren’t in season. If it’s new to me, I’m a happy camper. If it’s a well-made revisit, I’m a happy camper, too. I’m “boney” on Untappd, which is pretty up to date for my hads. Cheers.

 

I have the same user name on another website that some big brewer bought up. Pretty much up to date on my reviews there.

I'm a pretty serious ticker, and would be hoping for new beers. But I'm less picky about style, if it's a very well-made example. So new + yummy = magic.

Especially like the good stuff from local breweries that don't get much distribution/hype.

My target is located in a provincial capital city West of me.

The city is actually located approximately 400 kms from where I was born and raised. The city I grew up in is not necessarily small, although your city makes it feel that way.

I think your likes are fairly different than mine, but I hope that you enjoy some of the goods that I've assembled!

I am certain you've had 1 of the beers I am sending and would be surprised if you hadn't already tried 2 others before (just a hunch based on my rudimentary detective work).
