    Hi friends!

My loves would be: NEIPA, DIPA, TIPA, West Coast IPA, interesting IPAs, any and all saisons/farmhouse ales, Belgian style (tripels, strong dark, strong golden, and quads), porters (non sweet ones), wild ales, fruited berliner weisse, fruited gose, pale ale (if you think its an impressive one), and almost any beer with passionfruit or guava.

My dislikes are kettle sours, stouts, brown/red ales, milkshake IPAs, barleywine, lager, rauchbier.

    I'm silverale on Untappd!

Seems like we're into the "likes/dislikes" portion now...

To sum it up: I'm generally fine with anything, and will drink most beers. But if I had to be more specific, I like:
    • Traditional-style lagers and lager-adjacent beers (Helles, pils, kolsch, bock, etc.)(please no lagers with new hops like Citra or even "new noble" like Mandarina Bavaria, etc.)
    • Well-made classic styles in general (e.g. English ales, American IPAs, Belgian ales)
    • Funky BA Brett & mixed-ferm beers (especially from "farm breweries")(not big on sours)
    • Higher-ABV malty beers, (imp stout, barleywine, etc.)(barrel-aged? great)(ideally no lactose)
    • I'm totally cool with cool funky ciders & wines as well, so anything adjacent to those is also appreciated
My perfect box would probably have a big malty beers (some barrel-aged), some bottle-conditioned noble-hopped saisons, a bunch of Czech & German pilsners, and a few IPAs that are somewhere between west coast and NEIPA. I'm picky about NEIPAs-- I find they are often too chalky and yeasty, not bitter enough, and not bright enough (not crisp, flabby). But if you think there's one that's really good, send it along.

    Thanks!

Hint 1)a) You've sent to me and I've sent to you in previous rounds. Your quite particular and rest assured I've been preparing. This box you'll be happy with. It's going out tomorrow. In addition to some great beers I've included some treats, including sweets. I am pretty sure you don't own a chocolate factory.

Hint 1)b) To my second target your a beer lover of my own heart... our tastes are very similar and you'll be getting some very fresh offerings. Some were canned a week ago! I hop your tastebuds are ready as well as your porch if fortified from the bomb that will drop next week!

    My likes/dislikes post:

I like beer and if you like it then I will probably like it too. I like ciders, mead, and everything else beer-adjunct. Just don't send me a box of entirely off-the-wall stuff and we will be fine. Beer is still my favorite.

    More specific:

    • New-ish is good. I was big into the beer scene 10-15 years ago and traveled a lot but have had less exposure to smaller or more unique stuff that has come out since 2016. If it’s a flagship beer, and it came out over 5 years ago, I’ve probably had it.
    • Malt is good, hops are good, balance is key to me. I mean I love IPA’s but they are a dime a dozen and I make my favorite ones at home. Still, I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve so if you got a good one put it in! Also, for the record, I’m a west coast style over NEIPA/English IPA guy and think lactose is rarely a good thing.
    • Somewhat relatedly, the order of things I care about is nuance first, then complexity, and finally something novel. There is a place for the big experiments, but I’m more often impressed with an understated Dortmunder than an imperial whisky aged double extra super coffee peanut butter chocolate stout.
    • I tend to go for funk over sour, but rarely does either knock my socks off. There are exceptions that I will go out of my way for but most of the time I sense brewers are trying to cover their screw-ups with hype than trying to make a fantastic beer. If you think you have an exception, please send it. If it is just another fruit sour then maybe I’m not the market.
    • I have yet to have an impressive Canadian made Belgium style. Some in the QC market come close. This is generally true of trappiest styles too (if monks took a century to perfect it than your local shops seasonal probably isn’t really getting the point). Take that as a challenge, or steer clear, your call.

Hopefully, that didn't sound pretentious. I’m grateful and appreciative of any effort and am just trying to get into the spirt of my first CANBIF. To say again for emphasis, and despite what I put in the specifics above, send me ANY beer and I'll almost certainly like it.

    Hint 2)a)

A 24.5 lbs porch bomb is being dropped off at CP tomorrow to obliterate an unsuspecting BAs home later this week.

It is heading North of me to the lower province.

This bad boy contains 21 beers from 8 breweries with a majority of them perhaps having had an intimate relationship with works of a Cooper... 8500ml of mostly black gold!

I'm glad to be back in after a taking a break over the last few CANBIF editions. I have an account on RB/Untappd under boutip.

I generally like all styles and I love to discover new breweries.

I am only interested in IPAs, NEIPA (juicy, dank, lots of variety), west coast pales/IPAs, pale ales, pilsners, lagers, a bit of chocolately or coffee porters.

I like kettle sours too, but not much!

    Hi everyone,

as my previous posts, I'm mostly insterested by barrel aged beers. Sometimes, I like fruited beers but it's mosly my favorite beer's style.. I don't really like any hops related beers.

I'm really excited to know details about my target and the box I will receive later this month.

    Bonne journée!

    Hi all,

To my sender I'm easy going, looking for new things. Not too particular on style, really, just things I haven't had before. So whatever cool local breweries you've got that nobody knows about, old favourites dropping new beers, pretty much whatever. Same name on ratebeer.

I’m jumping in again after a few years away. My beer drinking has changed somewhat over the past year. My stomach no longer tolerates sour beer. I am a lover of lambic, but the heartburn and reflux is just too much for me.

I tend to drink and prefer any and all lagers from Helles to Schwartzbier to Maibock to Zwickelbier and everything in between. Similarly. IPAs from English to WCIPA to NEIPA. Traditional English styles like Mild, Bitter, etc. I also like porters and stouts.

I’m less inclined towards beers with fruit added or pastry emulations. My favourite add-junks are vanilla, coffee and cocoa, particularly in BA stouts and porters.

I tend to like darker Belgian beers (dubbel and quad) more than lighter.

If I had to pick a favourite style, smoked beers would be it. I love smoked beer.

All that said, I’ll be happy with whatever is sent. I love trying new breweries. I track my ‘ticks’ here if you are so inclined to look.

    Cheers!

Awesome to be doing this again. Here are my likes and dislikes, below. I don't have an attitude  I just prefer to communicate clearly with friends, to avoid confusion and hazy areas.

    Likes:
    • Lagers - well made, clean. Prefer decoction mash. No dry hops or haze. I hate hazy stuff.
    • Ales - traditional British of any kind (mild, historic, pale, IPA, bitter, etc). American pale ale and IPA that uses traditional (or tasting) hops
    • Saison & farmhouse ales - BA fine
    • Sour ales, wild ales - preferably 7% abv or less
    • Porters and stouts - under 7% abv. Adds like cacao, coffee, coconut totally fine. I'd have Oscar Blues' Death by Coconut on tap at home if I could :hugging:
    • Scotch ale, wee heavies, barleywine - if available in a 375ml. I can't do anything larger.
    • BA stuff from Dieu du Ciel (if available to you; if not, similar quality). Peche, Solstice among my favourites.
    • Crazy stuff from Brazil. Just because they can be so "out there" that I enjoy them.
    • Anything from the likes of Suarez Family, pFriem, Maine Beer Co, Four Winds - basically, breweries that don't make duds

    Hates:
    • Hazy anything - except where expected, such as weizen or weißbier
    • Sweet beer - except where expected, in trace amounts, say, such as in German bock or British ale
    • Anything with new world hops - no Vic Secret, or any hop that smells/tastes like [suntan lotion + grass clippings + baby barf]
    • Anything with oats - except stout and porter (where oats belong)
    • Anything with lactose
    • Slushies

While I'm on Untappd, I'm not one of those who says, "only send beers I haven't had." If I like a beer, I'll drink it again, with pleasure. I was born a curmudgeon, so again, not showing attitude here :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Thank you for reading for what you'll be sending.
