I see that, he sent the beers in question over so I won't change it to a negative feedback, I'll probably just add in a note that I never got feedback.

You can do that but why? Imo, it makes you look both petty & churlish. I've got a trade from months ago where I never rec'd FB. I've traded a couple more times with him & we see each other at releases occasionally. He's a helluva nice guy who just neglected to leave fb. In the grand scheme of things that's truly minor, imo.

Personal reasons. I understand here that it's frowned upon to back out on a trade but in this case it's really not a big deal for me, basically a shelf for shelf I was doing as a favor to him. Maybe if it was some rare bottle I had been tracking for ages I would feel different. As it is, I just wanted to clear it off my "open trades" file as im a bit of an organizational freak.

Seems like he might go through with the trade now anyway, waiting to hear. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My guess is 99% of the time the reason for backing out of trade would not sit well with the traders on here who are vigilant about doing things the right way.

...implying that I am not vigilant about doing things the right way? Am I understanding your post correctly? Respectfully, that is a bit insulting. My apologies if I am misreading your post.

I did my due diligence studying the standards here and have personally met them with flying colors. I would never back out of a trade, all my packages go out with extras on the exact date I promise. His communication has been swift and honest so I don't really feel the need to call him out as a bad trader, I was just looking for help on a technical aspect of the website. It's a great forum but some things are hard to locate (fe: took me forever to find the "request trade" button when I was setting up my first trade) and I thought I might be overlooking something.

I wasn't implying that you were not vigilant, you misread my post. I was stating that there is a portion of traders on here who would not accept a traders explanation for backing out of a trade. Usually when people back out of a trade that they have already agreed upon they offer bogus excuses to cover the fact they received a better offer. This bothers some of us more than others. Personally, if someone backed out of an already accepted trade I would leave them bad feedback, others wouldn't.

You need to leave feedback for that guy.

Yeah this reeks of he found a trader willing to give him more. I had one guy agree to a deal to send me Flora for ADWTD (first batch) but then he found out ADWTD would be re-released in much larger quantities so he messaged me back and said he accidentally broke the bottle of flora he was going to send. A few weeks later I found a post of someone saying "thanks for bringing the Flora (to a tasting at DLD)" to the guy who's flora "broke". He must have pieced that bad boy back together. Magic.
