I appreciate your reasoning, but it's also not pracical for us to list *every* reason why a thread might get deleted. Different mods also have different tolerances, so depending on who responds to a report, YMMV. It's not an ideal situation, but it is reality.

If you do have a question about a deleted thread, please BM one (or more) of us: me, @blue-dream @FATC1TY @John_M @jbakajust1

That is okay. This site is very useful for me in terms of beer ratings, and threads by others that I read and comment on. I will probably use it less for starting by own threads asking questions about styles, since my questions may not fit well.

Something I would add on (and echo) to F2brewers post....

I don't think any of the moderators on BA are "gun ho" when it comes to deleting threads. I frequently see posts from Todd where he cautions everyone to show restraint, and to always consider closing down a thread, rather than deleting it. So I think most of us try to err on the side of caution, and only delete threads that we feel are particularly egregious. As F2brewers mentioned, it would be nice if a comprehensive list could be put together, outlining all the sort of infractions that will lead to deletion, but that's simply not practical (as F2brewers already stated).

Not sure if that's any solace to you @lordofthemark, but thought I would throw out my two cents.

Is there some sort of guidelines that the moderation follows? I have no complaints about this thread or the issues presented in it, I am just wondering about the statement I have bolded.

Thanks guys! I, for one, learned a lot about proper technique in all forums, not just ISO:FT. This explains a few of my own deleted posts - I think overall you guys (moderators) do a pretty darn good job controlling civility here.
