I can't believe there isn't a Canfest thread here yet with less than 100 hours to go! For only $25 (in advance, $35 at the door) 4 hours of unlimited canned beers. I think its the best collection of beers for a Nevada beer festival ever (admittedly, not the highest bar to overcome). http://www.canfestbeer.com/brewery-entry-info/ Some of my favorites that will be there: Santa Fe Java Imperial Stout Santa Fe Happy Camper IPA Oskar Blues Deviant Dales IIPA Oskar Blues Ten Fidy Imperial Stout 21st Amendent Bitter American Ska Modus Hoperandi Sixpoint Resin DIPA SNPA Fort George Vortex IPA Hopworks IPA Mammoth Epic IPA Looking forward to trying Sun King Oriris Pale Ale, Fort George Cavatica Stout, Moab Johnny America's IPA, Payette Pale Ale & Uncommon's Bacon Brown Ale for the first time. A good mix of old time favorites and new stuff to tick. Bottle share afterwards?
I'll be out at CanFest vending but will spend a decent amount of time sampling. Last year Sun King brought out a limited supply of Medal Winning beers too which was awesome. This is a great fest with a nice spread of different cans that we don't usually have axx to out here. Really glad Sixpoint is making it out this year.
also be sure to check out uncommon brewers baltic porter, i really enjoyed the stuff at breast fest last year
That's this weekend?! Dang, bad weekend for me. I was hoping to make it this year. Looks like a good list, nice to see HUB on there too.
Too bad Cigar City decided not to go. That first year with Surly was still the highlight, but I think Mammoth will end up proving a much better sponsor than Buckbean.
Post-event wrapup: What was everyone's best/worst things about the fest? Best: Santa Fe Java Imperial Stout Oskar Blues Deviant Dales IIPA Ska Modus Hoperandi Unlimited Pours Worst: Diacetyl Fake 'free' tickets issue between Reno Area Beer Lovers and ABBI marketing Some ipa's I know to be good, but 'older' cans were sent (Santa Fe, HUB)
Sun King Pappy Van Muckle was awesome. Other than that the Santa Fe Imperial Java was nice. Ten Fidy and Deviant Dale's is always a winner. I thought that the less loud music was more of a win this year - but more bands could have helped, I swear I heard the same song happening a few times. The Fort George Cavatica was pretty decent. Could have done without the hammered people wrestling and homeless people getting badges and wandering in at the end of the night. Also, yes there were definitely some old cans out there unfortunately. edit: I also enjoyed the deuce.
