I was at the liquor store earlier today and I had a hankering for a saison. I couldn’t find a good canned one. I have zero interest in bottles or I would have been all over the Funkwerks. Am I overlooking something or are we lacking in the canned saison dept? I usually stop on the beer aisle when I get to the out of state stuff unless I’m walking down to the La Cumbre/Melvin door.

Does anyone know if Funkwerks plans to start canning soon? Can we petition them to start if not?

I believe Avery cans a saison, although not sure if it is year-round.

    I thought that the
Lee Hill Series Vol. 15 Dry-Hopped Brett Saison | Upslope Brewing Company was excellent while it was around. Did you get a chance to try it?

Prairie has a couple canned ones.Tried one of them on tap and enjoyed, though not enough to have yet bought a sixer of at their pricepoint.

Haven't tried them but Left Hand is canning a rotating series of saisons.

Sante Fe's current seasonal is a saison with agave and lime. Didn't do much for me, personally, but wasn't bad.

Great Divide has Collette, Sanitas has a Cherry Saison, and of course CS has saisons in cans. The wild sage is tasty.

I hope you need cans for some practical format reason like going hiking, because if you pass on Funkwerks just because you prefer cans, that’s too bad.

The Avery one is out of season. Not sure if they’ll can it again with the lineup changes.

Great Divide Collette is fairly ubiquitous. The Left Hand one is a rotating seasonal, not sure which one is out now.

Colorado saisons in a can I know of, but can’t speak to: Black Shirt (red, I guess?), Sanitas (regular or cherry), Finkel & Garf (rye), Denver Beer Co (rice/sake), and Weldwerks’ might still be floating around.

If you want to go wild/sour/funky, there are a few more options, chief among them (in my opinion): New Image and the new Crooked Stave Vieille cans.

Out of state, my best recommendations would be Stillwater, Two Roads, or the new Perennial cans.

    Lots of options.

I just saw surrette or veillle from Crooked Stave has made its way into cans now on top of the other saison they offer.

Yeah I’ve been stopping by once a week and grabbing them.

I forgot about Collette, that’s a solid one.

The cs cans are good but $15 for sixer of 4.2% beer just ain’t getting it done.

Stillwater cans are fairly spendy, but I've enjoyed everything I've had from them.
BUT, it should be noted- something like the Crooked Stave cans are going to taste very different from Colette or other non-soured saisons. Depends what people like.

Elevation has Raspberry Gulch and their Acide variants. Those are definitely more fruity and tart than most say, Collette, but they're good. Raspberry Gulch has quite a bit of kick, too.

Haven't had it, but River North cans their Farm House saison.

Also, I feel like I've seen Aspen Brewing saison in a can, but I may be making that up.

I think it used to be. They've shifted things around over there a little and I think it got lost in the shuffle. That used to be the best normal sacc saison in CO.

Just saw two dry hopped canned saisons from New Image. Machine Language and Tubes Vs. Transitors. Haven’t tried either and find New Image beers to be pretty hit or miss.
