Nice find! Maybe talk to Jean and ask how he would expect it to hold up?

It all depends on storage conditions over the last 30+ years.

Do you know how many owners it's had and/or how it's been kept?

Drink it with as many friends as you can; it could be wonderful. However, even if terrible, you've had the experience and probably a cool dialogue with your friends; you have great bragging rights; and you have a cool empty bottle for a shelf, if nothing else. And, I highly doubt that further age will improve it! Lol!

Don't drink it and you just have the cool bottle.

Open and then share the story.

Or, let me know when you open it and I'll bring up a bottle of gueuze from 1965; maybe others would come and bring some really old stuff! Fun!

It has been in a cellar of 1 owner with a lot of other beers so normally well kept.... it says that you can keep it unlimited....

Have to sleep over it some nights...

How do these things surface?! Jealous.

Anyway that stuff is bottled still (no carb) but apparently by this age will probably have developed nice carbonation. It could very well be brilliant right now, but also it might taste overly 'old'--but regardless, it will be drinkable and a heck of an experience! There's no way I'll be able to hold onto my 2008 bottle that long

Out of curiosity, did it have any carbonation?

Steven Wings, why did you put it online some months ago and ask around 700-900 EUR for 1 bottle? To make up for your cost of buying several? :slight_frown:

Omg Stevenwings, you deleted your comment claiming you put your Cantillon Bruocsella 1983 online only to know its value, by far the most erroneous post I have ever read from a BA member. Months ago you claimed its value of around 800 EUR to a possible buyer and shortly after you put that add offline to not be spilled to the general public on BA. Months later you lowered your price 20-30% and used ebay instead, just in order to sell it.

Deeply disappointed! Don't go for profit, go for experience... Life is short! x

P.S. And if you do, fair enough, but be honest about it Steven. It's guys like you who frequent breweries daily and sell in secret that rise up the prices. On more than one occasion you scolded the sale behaviour, on forums. No more dishonesty please' and I will cut the rethoric.
