Cantillon 20 Ans d'Amitié Bottle Release - 5:00 PM - Pay As You Go

On Tuesday, December 4th at 5pm Monk’s Café will release bottles of 20 Ans d’Amitié, a new bottling by Brasserie Cantillon of Brussels.

20 Ans d’Amitié is a blend of 70% rhubarb lambic and 30% Lou Pepe Framboise to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Monk's Cafe in 2017, and 20 years of friendship between the Van Roy family and Tom Peters.

Kegs of 20 Ans d'Amitié have already appeared on occasion at our bar, but these will be the first bottles poured on-site! 750ml bottles will be $65 plus tax. Monk's Café is the only place in the world where you can buy a bottle of this exclusive blend.

Of the bottling, owner Tom Peters gives the following story: "On October 18, 2017 I was in Brussels with my daughter Isabel Thomas-Peters to discuss the formulation and concept for the Monk's anniversary blend with Jean Van Roy. He expected to do the blending and tasting in January-February. There is only a short window of time to add the rhubarb, and Jean called me in January and said, It's time! So I flew to Brussels the day after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, and tasted barrels and blended them that day. We put all of the Nath we had identified into the blending tanks, adding the Lou Pepe Framboise and tasting out of the tanks as we went. We added the framboise to soften the astringency of the rhubarb, ending up with a end ratio of 70 percent Nath to 30 percent Lou Pepe Framboise.

"on-site consumption only" a bit disappointing to read that. Have had it from a keg before and it's delicious.

More disappointing to read than “$65+tax”?

Well if you're onsite I imagine you can split the bottle 6 ways so everyone gets a $12 taster :stuck_out_tongue: that way you can get that sweet untappd cred
