Unfortunately it seems that demand for Cantillon (and I have to imagine this applies to other highly sought after beers) is so much greater than supply that any sense of ethical business practices flies out the window. I realize mentioning ethics in the same sentence as business is hopelessly naive, which is kinda how I felt after I learned that at least one Portland bottle shop didn't even put the stuff on their shelves, selling it out of the back to friends only.
What is a beer geek to do?

I went to 19 stores and bottle shops yesterday, coming up empty handed. 1 store told me that employees bought 90% of the bottles before they hit the floor and quite a few said that they didn't put them on the floor.
It was a sad and frustrating day, though I did find a bottle of 4 Calling and Fantasia.

I work in the industry so I'd rather not say. For all I know, I could end up on the TSA "No Sell List"

That is sad and frustrating indeed. Send me a BM - I know where some still sits on the shelf.

beginning of last week I saw 6 x 375ml bottles of Cantillon Classic ($8.49 I believe) at the New Seasons on Hawthorne, they were all still there on Saturday.
