I was at a tasting with friends last night and the host was showing a few of us his Blabaer from 2010. The cap was just black with no logo on it. All the other bottles i have seen have the logo which brought up the question of it being counterfeit. He did trade for it so i guess anything is possible. It did look to have the proper cork but the cap brought question. Anyone have a 10' with black cap and no logo?
I've had several Cantillons with plain black caps. As Sneers said, I wouldn't worry about it...especially if the corks were authentic.
I've bought legitimate Cantillon with a black cap and the man falling back in his chair, and some that have just a solid black cap. I don't you have anything to worry about.
I don't know about 2010 for sure, but I know I've seen pictures of Blabaer with either gold or black foil around the neck and cap. Presumably a brewer using foil would see no reason to use a more expensive labeled cap if plain black ones were an option, as the cap wouldn't be part of the visual presentation. As others have said, I doubt you have anything to worry about.
2010 had no foil, but I believe they hadn't started using the drinking man logo on their caps by then. The only vintages with foil were 2005 (gold), 2007 I (black), and 2007 II (gold).
Cantillon started using the chair-guy logo on their beers in late 2010. The lack of logo on the 2010 Blabaer is what one should expect. No need to worry. The earliest Cantillon that I have with the logo cap is an October 2010 Cuvee Saint Gilloise
