I have a friend studying abroad in Copenhagen till May. Anyone have any guesses as to when the release will happen? If he's in the area for the release, he said he'd snag some.

Very small limits. Normally like one 750 and then one small bottle.

August release at Ølbutikken. Think it was only 400 odd bottles of both the 375's and 750's this year. Each person allowed one set of each size.

It is 1.5 liters of beer allowed in checked luggage per person flying from the EU to the US. If he wants to roll the dice going through customs and not declare anything than he can bring more. Chances are he won't get checked.

This is all that is allowed, period? Or just without customs tariffs? My impression was that was the duty-free allowance, but more could be brought in and declared with a (possible) tariff added, depending on the mood of the customs officer. Is this not correct?

This is for the duty free. The four times I have traveled home to the States from Germany I have brought 3-5 liters. I just walked through nothing to declare and have never been stopped.

Same thing with me, walked right through.

OK, I don't see the point though in not declaring. You pay at most a buck or 2 per liter on beer. Why risk having it all taken away? You are allowed to bring whatever you want for personal consumption. The limit is just on duty free allowances.

I tried replying to this above, but somehow my comment didn't make it in. Was wondering if you meant one bottle per size. What is a set?
