aged lou pepe has trumped classic for me in the aged game. but in the fresh side, classic all day err day. i had a 2000 classic and it was good but not something memorable. i had a 2001 LP gueuze that was mind blowing good. i was shocked as i find LP to be very 1 dimensional and tame fresh.

dude there are loads of shelf guesses out there. try fond tradition, try boon, try tilquin, try hanssans, etc... (not sure what is close to you) and fond tradition kills cuvee rene

Let me reiterate what was far and away the best advice in this thread:

MAIL ORDER IT FROM BELGIUM. Etre Gourmet and Belgiuminabox will send you a variety of gueuzes for far less than $30/bottle, if you buy a decent amount of them. Then you can drink some fresh and stash some away for later. Girardin Black Label and Tilquin are ones to try along with Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen.
