I had one in my hand, but was told it's super rare, so I put it back

Apparently it's Cantillon Fou Foune, Mamouche and Lou Pepe Kriek.

16 cases on Cantillon for Colorado. That's a whooping 96 bottles.

Sometimes it's better to just pay the Fedex tax and keep your dignity.

Typical behavior from Mondo Vino. They will lie to your face. I've even had them tell me they were holding stuff over the phone, only to have it disappear 30 minutes later when I show up to pick it up. And I was purchasing a fairly substantial volume of beer from them at the time. Their prices suck and they can't be doing nearly the volume that many better stores do. I'm kind of shocked that they even receive an allocation. They certainly do not deserve it.

Had a similarly annoying experience today -- wife and I grabbed lunch on Tennyson and popped into Small Batch to grab some Casey. Randomly asked if they had any Framboos and Cantillon -- some woman behind the counter snapped "yup, and we ain't selling it ..." then another worker echoed the same line. I finally found the owner (who helped me carry my multi-bottle purchase to the counter) who I've shot the shit with about beer every time I'm in ... he was CRAZY rude about it. "Colorado is going to get a lot more and we're going to maybe announce selling it all at one time ..." Me: "When?" Him: "I don't know and I'm not saying ..." Me: "Can I be added to the list or get a head's up?" Him: "No." Me: "Ummm, what difference does it make, if you're going to sell it, sell it ... can I please buy a bottle?" Him: "No." Ummmm ... ok, last time I'm in your store. It's beer, you're a store that sells it, you have it, I'd wish to purchase a bottle ... where's the confusion?

Sorry to hear that about them. Probably my favorite store.

Mile High just sold out of their allocation.

Just checked with my boys at Mile High Wine and Spirits. Sounds like they got a a handful of them and they were gone within the hour.

One of mine too ... loved chatting with the owner and he's talked me into some (what ended up being) really good brews ... spent hours in that store! I'll live without the damn beer, it isn't as though I was hunting it all day. But the message of "yes, we have it, but just aren't going to sell it to YOU ..." was received loud and clear. I'll get the EXACT same stuff he has elsewhere ... bummer.

That's strange, because I called them (Mile High) today and was told, "No, we didn't get any." So either the guy on the phone was an a-hole, or too lazy to check.

Went to a store today where the owner said they got in 6 bottles, and they would wait to put them out until the excitement settled down. He said they'd just put them in the cooler and whoever found them, found them. I can at least respect this approach. Also said none of his employees would get them.

Hmmm.. atypical of my experiences there. I usually get a discount and "new beer info". Then again I'm ugly as sin, so it may just be pity

Checked my connections in Ft Collins and one of the stores received 6 bottles. Speaking with the owner and he apparently had callers checking on when it was going to be available for sale...even before he announced he had any. Said most of the callers appeared to know that he was receiving an allocation. Sounds like he's going to opt for a lottery should this come around again.

Think the only way most of us are going to see (possibly) any of these bottles are on the local trading forums.

I just talked to someone at Small Batch and they told me they weren't selling it yet but would announce it at a later date. It was polite and I don't have a problem with them doing that. Why not wait for the whale hunting madness to subside? The whole thing has gotten insane and I agree with the earlier post...might as well order from overseas and save yourself the hassle, it's not that hard.

Certainly the way to go...been toying with the idea of this as I've been waiting too long to see what all of the hype is about.

Any sites/resources anyone would recommend for ordering?

Ordering from Être or Belgium in a Box used to be quite simple and painless, but sooo many people do it now. Their stock isn't what it used to be. In fact, it's hard to find even regular cantillon gueuze online anymore.
