Greetings BA Europe Folks! I will be in Milan, Venice and Florence next week. Does anyone know where I might be able to find Cantillon on other hard to find lambics in these cities to take back with me and to drink on premises? Thanks in advance.
http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/cantillon-in-italy.383099/ now can we PLEASE get an extra forum "where to get cantillon in europe" ?
Thanks. Was wondering if anyone had some specific info on Milan since I didn't see much about it in the forums,
........So, can we solve this problem by making a map of europe and showing where there is effing cantillon??
Try some lambrusco sorbara (light sour red wine from the emilia region.) All the sourness of a cantillon, but a product local to the country you're visiting. It's a win-win! They are also generally quite inexpensive. Just make sure it's a Sorbara, and "secco," definitely not "amabile."
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am answering in a totally different direction so I apologize profusely... I just find it funny that Cantillon is so in demand now when it used to just sit on the shelf I think that people used to see it as too expensive back in the day, even for people who were semi-into lambic - and myself included, we all have budgets and I could only afford a bottle of Cantillon added to my regular order every 4 months or so - and that was when it was $18 for the regular $26 or so for the specialties! Unfortunately this is also the case for most whiskey as well, as they've gained popularity too. DAMN THIS FOODIE MOVEMENT AND ALL OF IT'S FRINGE MEMBERS!!!!!
