Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fà had it on tap and in bottles while I was there. This place is fantastic and their sister place across the alley Ber & Fud make this an easy must stop dynamic duo. https://www.football-pub.com/ Have fun!
They might also have some bottles right down the road at Beerland Trilussa (Via di Ponte Sisto 76). The last time I was there they had all of the Westvleteren as well, but it is slightly pricey.
Man I will have to check this out. I will be in Rome mid July, so this is a perfect destination to seek out while there.
Yes, Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fà is a great little place - and I do mean little! But also great. You can just grab a beer and stand outside if it's too packed. And it's in my favorite neighborhood, Trastevere. I'll be there at the end of June, so I guess I'd better start doing my homework now, plenty of new places have opened since I was there a few years ago. Brew Dog by the colosseum is definitely on my list, as is Donkey Punch, and I never made it to Brasserie 4:20 so there's that as well (which happens to be just south of Trastevere, and near Luppolo Station). I'd also love to stop by and see my friends at Baguetteria Del Fico, which I'm sure I'll be able to do, and perhaps Il Serpente although that's a little off the beaten track. Oh, and Johnny's Off License, I never made it there either - looks like I've got plenty to do already.
I'll miss you by a few days. If our trips coincided, was going to offer up some Cantillon (if you were looking for it).
I’m in Rome right now and we hit Ma Che last night. Do not miss it!! We had a blast and drank a bunch of Cantillon. But don’t sleep on some of the Italian Sours they have on tap, too! Ciao!
In the course of my research I've found that Johnny's Off License routinely stocks: Rosé de Gambrinus 19,50€ Grand Cru Bruocsella 30,90€ Kriek Lambic Bio 28,50€ Cuvee Saint Gilloise 23,00€ Iris 23,00€
Oh man that would be awesome. Let me double check on those dates and I can get back to you. I am trying to bring some sours from Russian River since it is local to me. If something happens and we are able to meet up, those would be worthy of a try as well. Cheers man!
Man just got a bottle of Lambic d’ Aunis at ma Che fa and they also had magic lambic bottles for in house consumption as well. In addition they had iris on tap
How about bottle shops? We'll be in Rome the last week of April, heading to Tuscany for the first week of May. Would love to grab a couple Italian bottles to bring back to Chicago. Seems like "Domus Birrae" is my best option but would love other suggestions. *Not concerned with Cantillon, will be great to stumble onto it when there but I don't need bottles to go.*
