I've been wanting to try CBS and King Henry (and some other top tier BA goods) for a long time and have a bottle of Cantillon Iris (Vintage 2007) to trade. I'd like to know if this is reasonable to-go 1:1 or its relative trade value. I enjoy sours but would drink bourbon barrel stouts and barley-wines all day if I was able. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
I don't think it's an auto 1:1 in regards to CBS or KH due to their increase in value lately, but if you're willing to add on your end and do find the right trader, you can certainly land one. Just takes some patience!
The vintage is helpful but Iris is a somewhat polarizing beer as not everybody enjoys unblended lambic. Having said that, it's a highly rated beer and you shouldn't have a problem trading it to a vet who prefers lambic to stouts or barleywines; might have to add a bit or maybe not, but you won't know until you post a FT.
Use the mighty power of the loon...I would throw up an offer and see what happens. As soon as you put Cantillon in a thread title, people go crazy. However, I tried using an Iris to land a Sexual Chocolate a while ago to no success.
I've used Fou'Foune to get CBS twice, however I don't think Iris would do it. CBS seems to be rated rather highly...
I'd have to look again, but I know 2007 Iris was available a few weeks back on both Etre and Belgium in a Box. Might be still available at other sites too.
If you buy multiple bottles from a online beer store in belgium you can usually get the cost below or equal to the per bottle price here in the states. The point of my post is that CBS and KH is not on shelves anymore and Iris 2007 is.
Thank goodness you didn't do that trade. Iris is on a completely different level compared to Sexual Hype Chocolate.
