Hi everyone, I was trying to get this beer for a while now, I even send one of my friends to a pub in Sweden to get it, no luck so far. Anyway, I've heard that that pub will have it again on May 18th, so does that mean that it will be available in Belgium around that time as well? Is there anyone out there who would be able to help me with it? Thanks! Greg
No. On all fronts, basically. From what I gather, every drop of Soleil de Minuit goes straight to Akkurat. A lucky few might be able to taste it at Cantillon, but it's never for sale. People that put this on the market are more often than not blatantly going against the brewer's wishes and hogging away personal gifts from them. I can pretty much guarantee though that 99.99% of the people that have the priviledges to get their hands on a bottle won't see the use in trading away their prized possession. (Am I not being a dick this time?)
Well...I guess I will have to forget about this one for a while...Gotta head north and get some cloudberries myself
I had believe this one a year ago but was not very impressed. I have to say though that i am not fond of this style of beer....The others who had were blown out of their pants....
Yeah, apparently it's the #2 whale of all time...http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/the-white-whale-list-2012.57581/
That could easily change with a second batch, though if Akkurat is really as much of a fortress as people say then maybe it won't.
Apparently it's illegal in Sweden for bars to sell take-away bottles. Guess it makes more sense then.
Yeah, people in the USA (myself included) complain about some of the alcohol laws, but Sweden is rough.
Yes, Akkurat IS that much of a fortress. Of the first batch a few bottles actually made it to the monopoly in Sweden and was sold to the public, and that's pretty much the only reason some bottles got out. The only way to get hold of the new batch is to befriend the owners of Akkurat and be gifted a bottle from them.
