Been into crafts for a while but within last 3 months have started trading. Completed a few IP trades and recently my first 2 trades on this site (completed quite a few off of Instagram) Recently started a craft beer and beard group locally.

Just wondering what kind of ammo I would need for cantillon? We plan to have a bottle share once guys get some stuff together worth sharing. I thought I could try to grab something most haven't tried as a first offering.

    Any help would be appreciated

Best way is to search prior threads or the trade forum. Cantillon is a brewery, and their easier beers may take $20-$25 of limited beers while their retired stuff well over a thousand.

    Thanks James

One question regarding your post. Have never had anything shipped overseas and curious as to shipping cost doing it that way?

I still think trading > buying from those sites. from Trappist World, a box of 5 common loons will cost about $183 all in. $35 per bottle. you can do better trading I think, even domestically

Trappist World's prices are absurd. A full box from Etre comes out to about half that price. It's less work than shipping out a box, but you have to buy in relative bulk.

It's ~$100 for a 38lb box from Etre. TW is ~130. I think BIAB is a little less expensive than Etre for shipping.

I ran a few quick numbers for you. Here are some examples (shipping only):

    Trappist World:
    • 1-2 750 mL bottles ~ $45
    • 3-4 750 mL bottles ~ $90
    • 5-11 750 mL bottles ~ $135
    • 12-13 750 mL bottles ~ $180
    • 14-16 750 mL bottles ~ $225
    Etre:
    • 1-5 750 mL bottles ~ $82
    • 5-11 750 mL bottles ~ $107
    • 12-22 750 mL bottles: ~ $214
    BIAB:
    • 1-2 750 mL bottles ~ $42
    • 3-5 750 mL bottles ~ $73
    • 6-7 750 mL bottles ~ $83
    • 8-11 750 mL bottles ~ $98
    • 12-13 750 mL bottles ~ $114
    • 14-16 750 mL bottles ~ $129
    • 17-19 750 mL bottles ~ $177
    • 20-22 750 mL bottles ~ $202
So you can see that Trappist aside, there's a sweet spot around 10-11 and 21-22 bottles to maximize your value. Of course, you're in the several hundred dollar range at that point, so YMMV.

Any idea what is going on with the stock at BiaB and Etre? It has been slim pickings for some time now... Does it have anything to do with their expansion?

This is a general question, not necessarily directed at you HighLow to answer alone.

Trappistworld shipping is $90 for 5 750ml bottles and one 375ml bottle. Of course more expensive than the others but on the other hand anything in a 750ml is selling out quickly on the other sites.

I am guessing that Cantillon is cracking down on their mules. I don't believe they get their beers through standard distribution (could be wrong).

There is no question that this is true. Jean told me as much when I was there in July and Cantillon has also placed limits on the amount of bottles a person can buy each day:

Five cases of bottles total per person per day.

That equates to a max of 30 bottles of 750 mL *or* (not and) 60 bottles of 375 mL. Or you can mix the two...but you still can't buy more than five cases combined.

No, I didn't ask their policy on exactly how they would calculate a mixed case. I don't think they've thought about it *quite* that hard since he was annoyed enough to have to put bottle limits in place at all.
